  1. It would make sense (seeing as how most are killed in battle) that, if we suppose orcs are immortal (they were created from elves remember), the older an orc gets, the more powerful (socialy) they become. Only the strongest of them live long lives and these orcs become the chieftens, since obviously orcs do not become leaders based on intellect. So here we see almost an animal-like approach to community and leadership among orcs- only the strongest survive, and the strongest becomes the leader.

As for reproduction, seeing as how orcs are twisted versions of elves, we can assume that they reproduce the same as elves and men (although its not a pleasant thought). Orcs (becuase of their massive population at times) seem to reproduce rather quickly, so we can further assume that orcs might reproduce in litters of several being born at a time. Of course they might instead have short pregnancy periods and/or quickly develop (the latter is very likely based on their lifestyle).

  2. Ceasar: When did you get your current position? Do you still visit AoKH?

I got it a few weeks ago, but I havent accomplished anything for TLA yet since I have had a very busy and painful schedual for the last few weeks :P

I look at AoKH once in a while, but I got a ban from HG for arguing with a mod in the Outside discussions forum :). I'm still working on a modpack though ;)

  3. You can't be a Christian and an Evolutionist at the same time. The theory (not scientific law) of Evolution was created to get rid of God so that people don't have to believe in moral absolutes and can think that man decides truth.

    Sure I can ;)

Just because it was theorozied to take God out of the equation doesnt mean it carries out its intended purpose. Pope John Paul II (MHRIP) wrote several things regarding evolution and God. He was able to show how it is possible for evolution to have taken place with God as it's divine creator. Not the least of these pieces is his adress to the Pontifical Academy of the Sciences, but this can all be discussed in my new Theology discussions thread :)

  4. Well, how about I get the ball rolling? :)

Christianity, Judaism and Islam teach that God (Yahweh, Allah, Jehova, ect...) is omnipresent. Christianity in particular teaches that God exists in every place at everytime, all at once (exception is that Christianity holds that "Hell" is the Absolute Separation from God, therefore it is the one place where He cannot exist in- which leads to the question- how can hell exist if God does not exist there?). So, from the many perspectives here, is this possible- to be Omnipresent?

  5. This went over really well when I posted a Theology Discussions Thread in the HG forums, so I decided to bring it here. Like the title states, this is where we can discuss anything regarding religion or religious philosophy or just God (or Vishnu, or Buddha...) in general!

Post opinions, ask questions, debate, discuss, whatever you want. Just try to stick to the topic at hand and respect the diverse faiths (or no faith) that are possessed by the many forumers here at WFG.

    Enjoy! :)

  6. Well if I could make a suggestion, why dont we just delete the LoTR topics altougather (or archive them) and start all over with another book (the Sil or the Hobbit would be a good start). Now that I am on the TLA staff I would gladly take over and post topics for the chapters, if that is ok :)

  7. I'm sure it cannot be contested that the US has the best equipped, most highly trained military in the world (not to mention the second largest). That being said, can someone please tell me, in complete honesty, that the American government could not have sent an elite special ops force to either capture or kill Saddam Hussein, and avoided the entire mess of a full invasion althougather?

  8. Apocalypto (2006) - Mel Gibson's take on the Aztecs, pre-Spanish conquest

I heard Gibson is filming it in Náhuatl (the Aztec language) :D

I read something recently about the fourth installment in the Hannibal Lecter series. Its based on the book Behind the Mask but will be filmed as Young Hannibal. I love these movies so I am quite eager to see what becomes of this :)

  9. Maybe I should be the first to get the ball rolling on the incident of the two Carolina Panthers cheerleaders who were arrested for having sex in a bathroom.

    http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2005/foot...heerleaders.ap/

TAMPA, Fla. (AP) -- Two Carolina Panthers cheerleaders were arrested after a bar dispute that broke out early Sunday after patrons complained the women were having sex in a bathroom stall, a police arrest report said.

Police reports named the women, but The Tampa Tribune reported officials were checking into whether one of them gave a false identification. One woman was charged with battery, and the other with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.

Both women were released on bond later Sunday

The women were locked in a stall at about 2:10 a.m. Sunday when other patrons got angry they were taking so long in the bathroom, the police report said. The women left the stall, and one began arguing with another patron of Banana Joe's, eventually hitting that patron in the face with a closed fist, police said.

The incident happened 11 hours before the kickoff of the Panthers' NFL football game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The cheerleaders traveled to Tampa on their own because members of the team's Top Cats squad are on the sidelines only at home games.

Panthers officials told The Charlotte Observer at Sunday's game that they were aware of the reported incident, but declined further comment.

Well, I'll be the first to say it: LOL!!!

    :)

  10. I would like to propose that the list of fonts we are able to post with in the WFG forums be increased with fonts relating to 0ad and TLA. For example, some fonts pertaining to the various civilizations in 0ad be included (Greek, Old Persian, Celtic/Germanic Runes, an informal Latin script or two, ect.), and for TLA there could be a few Tengwar fonts, and some Angerthas and Cirith fonts.

  11. These riots are just another example of public outbursts against a government, caused by beliefs that said government is working against a specific culture, in this case the muslims. Its similar to the black riots in Detroit back in the 60s.

The army will be called out, one or more people are going to get shot, possibly killed, religious and social leaders will call for an end to the violence, the violence will increase, the army will occupy rioting areas like war zones for a few weeks then back to business as usual.

  12. Caesar : you are forgetting Mexico... And, unlike Canada, the United States have diversified economical partners. Not only Canada.

But Mexico is not as rich in natural resources as Canada is (although the poverty of their people is exploited to create a cheap work force for foreign companies). As for their other trading partners, the US does not border on these countries so they would have to pay shipping fees which would drive the prices up.

When it comes to self-production we must consider that many countries have to import goods and resouces that they cannot get in their own territories. Also, (and this is where I believe in "sharing the wealth") some countries are very rich in natural resources (Canada for example) while other countries are virtual deserts (like many African nations) when it comes to the resources they can produce.

  13. Dont forget that if Canada and the US broke trading ties it would mean the loss of their largest trading partner for both countries. What other country does the US share it's borders with that has a free trade agreement and a massive amount of resources? It would hurt the US much more than most people realize if they broke off trading ties with Canada.
