  2. I say drop support for the old chips, everyone needs good reasons to upgrade and being on such old hardware only holds progress back!
  3. Well I am perfectly happy now i know he isn't paid until the work is done that is perfect and yes thank you as well for changing the text is was slightly misleading. I have donated to both and also as above would donate to a third
  4. I kinda agree with Android on this one, if funds have already been paid to the developer then it's not really right, we donated for full time work, not 1 full day here, 1 full day there.

  10. Okay guys has anyone else noticed how slow the mouse is on the games main menu? It's fine in-game but the main menu mouse movement is like a snail?
  11. Basically upon trying to load up the editor i get this: https://picasaweb.google.com/liamdawe/GameBugs#5583516425226608674 Alpha 4 Edit > Works fine now, downloaded yesterday when Alpha 4 was released and it borked it, todays updates fixes it.
  12. Fair enough i look forward to reading up on what all our donations are going towards, that and tinkering with the Alpha 4 release I see lots of documentation updates as well, good job, it's one thing a lot of open source projects lack - decent documentation.
  13. So i can't see any topics about it yet so i thought i should make one. I am wandering if someone has been chosen to receive the $3000 in donations for the developer funding? If they have been then what will you be working on? If no one has been chosen then when will they? Just would like to see what's coming of the money.

  15. Alt-tabbing well i don't know of a game that runs fullscreen under Linux that you can actually alt-tab. An external lobby meaning i can resize it at pleasure, put other windows besides it (like firefox, chrome etc) load up springlobby for SpringRTS to see what i mean. I could be sitting in a game waiting for more players for a while, i would want to look up stuff while i wait - as just one example.
  16. Hello everyone! Just a requested for some feedback on something about the proposed Game Lobby. My idea is simple really, i think that the game lobby should take on Spring RTS's way of doing things in the way that the lobby is external to the game. Why? - They are easier to work with than a full screen/windowed OpenGL lobby inside the game itself - makes it easier for you guys to publish updates to if it was say fixes to the lobby and not the game itself. That and alt-tabbing on Linux is a mess, it just makes things easier on the whole.

Honestly: * On average, in this kind of scenario, things are already fast enough - at the normal rate of 5 turns per second it's using <10% of the CPU for all the simulation code, which is fine. That on a core 2 which is older now as well and clocked low is pretty dam good. I would say it's optimised enough for now!
