  1. Woah, that looks really really interesting - I see someone even had the same urge of using Impressions Games as an inspiration! Seems like I'm much behind 0 A.D.'s modding scene and need to catch up thank you so much!
  2. Thank you for the reply! And yeah, I guess it would be a whole lot of work - but I expect that. It would still be much more work to create such game from scratch, so modding will always be winning on that field (and it would feel good to be part of this community at one point) Haha, I actually use this kind of workarounds quite often! It's really nice to decide when you want to start the fight and build your empire without worrying of destruction. Registering here I actually saw Delenda Est, so will definitely check it out. It felt to me like overhaul aimed at military more than anything, but I never disregard a great mod As for my main inspiration, the biggest (and most beloved) are building series from Sierra/Impressions Games, specifically Emperor and Pharaoh. I love how 0 A.D. strikes that itch of having multiple civilisations, and with mods they even expand further.
  3. Hello! Long time enthusiast of 0 A.D. here. This game is still one of my favourite RTS to play and I'm super thankful to everyone making it a reality. That being said, I was wondering lately - could I bring it a bit closer to my ideal? My biggest love in strategies were always economy and deep gameplay during peace. But ironically enough, every game with economies lacked good fight, and military strategies tend to avoid too complex economic features (the latter for good reasons, to clarify). So, my question is as follows - I know there are mods adding new troops or even civilisations, but would it be possible to make mod that is major overhaul, touching a lot of aspects of the game and introducing whole new mechanics? How far one can go with such attempt? I'm asking because there's rising urge in me to create game that would fill that great balance, but I'm also curious if it was possible to achieve by modifying one of my favourite strategy games - given 0 A.D. was made with modding in mind. If it won't suffice I can always work on the game itself, but there's no harm in trying. For context, I never modded 0 A.D. before, but I have experience in modding other games (Minecraft, Morrowind) and programming, so I'm hoping this won't be particularly harder than my past experiences ^^
