  1. Greetings Humans, it has been quite some time since I last visited this site.

If Wildfire Games still plans on releasing a comprehensive editor with the game then my Lord may just take it upon himself to make his own campaign. Perhaps he will even assemble a team of cohorts to assist him.

  2. A member of the Order started a similar thread on another forum. My Lord has requested I start a "Game Ideas" thread on these forums because there are a lot of ideas for new games flowing around. Let this be the place you post those ideas.

Here is an idea submitted from a member of the Order that my Lord found particularly appealing:

    2. Okay the second idea is an action/adventure game taking place in a medieval setting with a post apoctyloptic scenario. By that I mean the apocalypse happpened in the middle ages rather than in the future.

You start as a simple peasant, armed only with a pitch fork (or something similar). You start out exploring various places, meeting people and fighting enemies along the way. And eventually you start making friends that come with you on your travels. Once you make enough friends you can command them in somewhat of a squad fashion but your main character is still what you mainly control. As your "squad" grows you gain new command abilities.

After your squad has grown large enough and you have unlocked enough command abilities (with your main character still at the helm) your introduced into a complicated world of various factions carving out their own empire. That's when you options really open up. You can start a revolt, you can join another faction, you can start your own empire, and other various options that I haven't thought out yet. But at this point your group of friends and allies has become a ragtag army. Now you can choose to grow your army and take your own piece of the world, or the entire world.

The thing with this game is your main character is always at the helm and at the center of the action. Even though your commanding armies you still have full control over what your main character does. For example, if your sizely army is getting its butt kicked then you can jump on your horse and run away to start anew. Also along with those commanding abilities your character learns fighting abilities and can choose not to have an army or start a revolt at all.

    What's your idea?

  3. @ Milords ambassador:

    7) it's free. That's a pretty good way of getting people in!

My Lord is sure people will be willing to play if they know they don't have to pay for it, but how are they going to get the word out? WildFire Games won't receive any revenue for 0 AD, so there will be no way to actively advertise.

Basically what my Lord was trying to get at was he would use the Order Of The Wolf to get the word out, with a price attached of course.

  4. My Lord has a few questions:

    1. How many units can be selected at once?

    2. The last trailer said "2009" at the end of the video. Does this mean you are coming near the end of production? I'm sorry for this question but my Lord is most impatient.

    3. What will the modding tools be like? My Lord has seen the FAQ but he would like you to describe it in detail.

    4. What types of defensive structures will there be?

    * Can I make my own in-game cutscenes?

Yes. Camera movement for in-game cinematic sequences is fully controllable in the Scenario Editor.

    5. Please describe how this will work in detail.

    6. Will upgrades be retroactive to the units already on the battlefield? What my Lord means be that is if he researches "Elite Hoplite" do all his "Hoplites" become "Elite Hoplites?" (hypothetical example).

    7. Sucessfuly multiplayer depends largely on the number of people playing online. How do you plan on attracting more people to this game?

  5. My Lord likes to think of it as a game that takes place in the same time frame as Age Of Empires, with Age Of Empires 2: The Age Of Kings gameplay, and Age Of Empires 3 graphics. Although, there are several features that differ from Age Of Empires which my Lord is most pleased with.

  6. You may tell your Lord that we have had many times when we were outnumbered but still held the Line. ;) THIS IS EARTH!

    Battle of Alamo

189 Texans versus 6000 at least Mexicans

    Texans- 189 dead

    Mexicans- 1200-1500 dead

Yes, but the Texans were still defeated in that battle. Also, the ratio of that battle was 1:6, which is significantly better than 1:10.

  7. Will the lord's presence be requiring any tributes for his unfaltering allegiance?

No My Lord doesn't believe in monetary tributes. Money leads down the path to evil. All my Lord requires is loyalty and obedience. Although technically you owe my Lord neither because he has not yet been crowned Emperor Of Earth.

  8. 1000 vs. 10000? The 10000 soldiers will win for sure. With that many soldiers my Lord (or any commander for that matter) can easily surround his enemies and strike fear into the hearts of those "strong" 1000 soldiers.

But if it's a matter of picking 1000 strong soldiers or 10000 weak soldiers my Lord would still pick the 10,000 weak soldiers. In a battle against some other force the 1000 strong soldiers will be overrun too quickly. Unless by "strong" the original poster means "unstoppable super soldiers" but my Lord doubts he did.

  9. If the modding tools are anything like the modding tools in the Age Of Empires games then they should be quite easy to use. My Lord has mastered the Scenario Editor in Age Of Empires 2: The Age Of Kings/The Conquerors and he has passed those skills to all the members of the Order.

  10. Let me introduce myself, I am the Ambassador for the Great Lord Feloric. My Lord rules a distant planet and has recently set his sights on Earth. He likes to practice his skills with video games from you planet, he will need those skills if he is ever to become the Emperor Of Earth.

Now you should know a little something about the Order Of The Wolf. You humans can think of my race as humanoid wolves, because that is what we resemble. But more and more humans are being accepted into the Order. All of which serve the Great Lord Feloric unquestionably, he is wise and benevolent, there is no better life than serving my Lord.

But you should know why I'm here. My Lord as asked me to investigate more about this video game. It looks promising to him, so promising that if the game meets my Lord's standards he promises to spare the lives of the good people at Wildfire Games when he is crowned Emperor Of Earth. Age Of Empires is one of the Order's favorite games, and 0 AD will make an excellent tribute.

I will end this post by saying greetings to all the future converts to the Order. All hail Lord Feloric!
