Hlios

Hello everyone, this is my first post here. My name is Nikos and my favorite alias is Hlios which means sun in greek. Among other things I have an ongoing passion for photography, travelling, discovering new ideas and places and the last 3 or 4 years for military history (pre-gunpowder). How I found you: A few years ago I was browsing the web for interesting topics about gaming and history. I was looking particularly for historical accuracy in a game, since the (in every other respect great) Age of Empires series was quite dissapointing. I was dreaming to find a game with units fighting in real formations, like the phalanx. I have nearly lost hope and was thinking to start something on my own when I reached your site. From my first visit to this site I was captivated by the unique and passionate approach towards the historical RTS genre. I also enjoyed the historical articles and other stuff like the great video and music and the spirit of the community (small then much bigger now). And of course the real hook was 0AD which I think is just a great title and concept for a game. After the first excitement I remember thinking that this game project was too ambitious to come to an end successfully. No money involved it will run out of steam sooner or later. I've seen it many times before. So I decided to enjoy this while it lasted, perhaps a few months or a year at most. But you guys proved me wrong! You are so crazy and you better be! From time to time I kept visiting the site and was glad to find out that the project evolved beautifully and started to show very promising. For all your efforts you deserve a big bravo and WELL DONE!
