  1. Is there a UBB code for 'strike through' on our forums? Like on the closed topics? I was looking for some help in our help file and I don't think we have a UBB help file either. Two ideas :)

Maybe I just don't know where to look :)

  2. I think thats a fair view to have Adam :) I guess I'm on the other flip of the coin, I think the leaps in logic behind evolution and the big bang are greater than a belief in a supreme being that creates and works in mysterious ways :)

My physics professor spent the last 2 weeks explaining the 'science' behind the big bang - maybe I shouldn't have been sleeping in class :D. There is a theory that there is a chance of quarks appearing out of of nothing, but, I think the most commonly held theory of the physacists is that the universe has been and always will be, it just 'bangs', expands, and collapses in cycles. There is another theory that all the origional super condensed matter that makes up our universe was 'created' by something.

  3. I think what Adam means is the odds for fullfilment of prophecy has huge odds just like how we Bible believers complain about the huge odds for the entire evolutionary process (mainly progressive 'improving' evolution - not mutations).

Adam, the difference is that evolution doesn't leave any room for supernatural events (events that you could say the odds are so heavily against it ever occuring it is inconcievable to the human mind). God, miracles, creation etc.. are supernatural in definition. Christians accept the supernatural by faith. Faith is something unacceptable to the scientific community that supports evolution.

Oh, and yeah like Jacob just said... those fullfilment of prophecies were all part of God's divine providence (plan).

  4. No, That is from Lev. 20:13 which is from the old testiment, which was under the jewish 'old law'. The 'new law' that Christ put in place after he came to earth says we should "love others as Christ loved us" so killing them would be totally opposite of that commandment.

Yeah your right Mythos, many of the old Testiment passages are very violent. Its quite disturbing. Thats one reason why I'm glad Jesus came back to earth 2000 years ago and gave us his new plan of salvation.

  5. I just wanted to clarify the Christians stance on homosexuality. We as Christians believe there are certain guidlines that God gave us to live our lives. The Bible clearly condemns homosexual acts as sin:

Lev. 18:22, "You shall not lie with a male as one lies with a female; it is an abomination."

Lev. 20:13, "If there is a man who lies with a male as those who lie with a woman, both of them have committed a detestable act; they shall surely be put to death. Their bloodguiltness is upon them"

1 Cor. 6:9-10, "Or do you not know that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, 10nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, shall inherit the kingdom of God."

Rom. 1:26-28, "For this reason God gave them over to degrading passions; for their women exchanged the natural function for that which is unnatural, 27and in the same way also the men abandoned the natural function of the woman and burned in their desire toward one another, men with men committing indecent acts and receiving in their own persons the due penalty of their error. 28And just as they did not see fit to acknowledge God any longer, God gave them over to a depraved mind, to do those things which are not proper."

I don't belive that people are 'born' gay. Also, just because a person is practicing homosexuality doesn't mean I hate them or won't associate with them. I will pray for their deliverance from the practice of homosexuality, but I will still treat them just like a would treat a hetrosexual.

I have to disagree with you Gee, I personally can seperate my oppinions from a person from my oppinions of their actions.

I view homosexuality as 'unnatural' and has no other purpose than sexual gratification. To me it is no different to me than sex before marriage, adultery, voyeurism, incest, bestiality, pedophilia , or pornography.

However, I would not force my belief system on others. I just disagree with all those who disagree with me :):)

  6. I take it that Nikk the creator isn't availible at the moment?

I don't think there is a simple way to do what you want to do Ex. There might be a work around, but I think that would involve breaking down your biped unit and setting up your own bone heirarchy - then using the animation tools in normal max. But, that is really counter productive to what your trying to do because your basically voiding all the functionality you had with the CS plugin.

I really don't know a whole lot about this, so I'm probably not the best person to ask. Just trying to help you out from my limited knowledge on the subject.

@John - ridged means that your all vertex are attatched to one bone only. If you used some vertex weights then it 'shares' the vertex location between the two bones its attatched to.

    This explains it well: http://www.cg.tuwien.ac.at/studentwork/CES...02_related.html

  7. For the second question, Darwin's word is infallible. He's human.

I think you mean fallible not infallible?

Hey wwjdihwtm, out of curiosity, what does your name mean? It looks very similiar to the acronym of wwjd (what would Jesus do). Is it what would Jesus do in heaven? hell? with the m_______?

Oh, and welcome to the forums :)

  8. Have you tried going to your file in explorer and opening it up without using max?

This also looks wierd to me:

    CProgram Files\3ds Max 5\help\3dsmax_t.chm

I would think it should look like:

    C:\Program Files\3ds Max 5\help\3dsmax_t.chm

Also check your paths to your help files in 3dmax.

  9. Ok, I looked all over the net and I couldn't find any material on the subject. Sorry about that, if you see a link... you could point me to it. If your using ridged, then that begs of why are you even messing with the skin modifiers? Especially if your attatching any vertex to one bone only.

Did you guys make your exporting script or is it 3rd party sofware? Is there any documenation with it?

  10. If your using the skin modifier I'm guessing that your not doing ridged but instead your using vertex weights (we are just doing ridged). Your right the physique modifier in CS is the equivelant of the skin modifier in regular max.

I'd have to do some googling before I could answer your question or read through my help files. I'll check some things over for you guys.

I rarely use it anymore, but I'll sign on :)

[edit]didn't see you there, I'm going to go eat a late lunch

  11. Ah... no worries Sud, at the size your making them there is no way you could tell a difference :band:

I'm not sure if I have all that roman stuff all together anymore. I know I have it all, but its spread out all over the place on different hard drives and cd's. I think Ryan might still have that stuff though?
