  1. He wants to show free games which make fun. 0A.D. is the first game he wants to show. He says that some people might know you already because you are the makers of the Age of Empires 2 Mod "Rome at War". He says that your first game doesn't just look like Age of Empires, it's played like it. You have good ideas and improve much of the game. 0AD is open source, free to play and open-platformed. So you can play it on Windows, Linux and Mac. And the game is still in alpha, you can see that some menues are still grey. We just want to look how this game works and play a singleplayer game. We are now in the singleplayer menu with some scenarios with pre-assembled teams and nations. In the random mode, you can chose whatever you want. Only 3 of 6 projected nations are available right now, the helens, celts and iberians. The roman empire, the carthagian empire and the persian empire will be added. We chose this one, it's the only scenario with pre-assembled teams. Let's just play it and look at the game itself. We are now in game, you can see the HQ and 3 villagers. These can only build standard-buildings. I just call it "level 1 of the buildings". I let them cut wood. Now I build some swordsman. You can already set the staging area, it's sad that you can't set it on ressources yet. And men can build "level 2 buildings" like barracks, barns, harbors, walls, towers and (can't understand next word) and they can also collect. We want to stay historical correct, women took a minor role. They want to stay correct in scenarios, maps, units and realism too. You can see some ressources around the HQ too. I think it's nice, that soldiers can build too, which is better than in AoE2. It's better because if I'm attacked, I'm not completely defenseless, because my workers are soldiers too. So, on the top you can see ressources, food, wood, stone and iron, gold doesn't exist, I don't know if it's planned, but I don't think so. You can also see the population limit. I am going to build some female villagers, I can only create two of them because my food is running out. One of them I send to collect ressources, one of them has to build a farm. I really like that buildings integrate in the countryside, there are different levels of altitude, there will be paths to the top, and buildings adapt to the countryside. There are some graphic bugs because of that sometimes, but the boys and girls of wildfire games are on the right path. I don't think you can build every building yet, for example all of the research buildings are missing. The tech tree will be double-tracked, so when you have A1 and B1, and you chose A1, you can't chose B1 anymore. You can strategize pretty well like that. This part of the video is just going to show how the building phase is. In the second part I will show you a fight against a AI enemy. There's an iron mine, there's stone and wood of course. I just build some buildings for the presentation. Some farm buildings where you can slaughter animals. Oh, sorry. That's for collecting food. Like the mill in AoE2. This is the building you need for that. Like I said, there will be the roman, the carthagian and the persian empire later. And it's planned that little "addons" will be released, which will be open-source too, as far as I noticed. There will be more nations then, new buildings and maps, and so on. Nice music, which repeats very often till now, but it's pretty harmonious. It's not a music which annoys you when you play very long. You can see a fort there, you can build heroes there like (..., he just lists some heroes of the iberian nation). In addition there are stronger units like swordsmen and cavalry and siege units. I don't really like that you can build the same hero more than once, which is a bit strange. This is how I end the first part of the video. I hope I was able to bring this game home to you and I hope you will watch the second part of this video where I will show you the fight system. till then, bye! I hope you can understand it, I translated it as good as possible
  2. I play it very often It makes much fun and you can play it again and again and again without ever getting bored (except when you hug the creeper one more time...)
