Uninstalling completely and reinstalling seemed to have solved the problem.

I also tried uninstalling my AV and no go

Well I looked to see if there were multiple instances of the process and there wasn't. Also I tried clicking on the game icon again while the error message was presenting to try to go over top of it but that didn't work either.
