  1. @lilstewie : I too know that North India is Punjab, UP, Kashmir, etc. but, do note that I've also quoted in my previous post that Chandragupta Maurya's kingdom was spread in north and north eastern India. What I meant by north India was in general the northern part of India.Yes, the skin tone thing is a non issue but, since the game is being created as a historically accurate game I thought may be I should notify the developers of the slight mistake.Anyways, it is good they made the unit brown which is accurate. @Adi12 : First of all I'm sorry if I've hurt you.Yes, you are right. One cannot simply tell by just looking at a person from which part of India he/she is and I'm not trying to divide India into North and South India and I too condemn it even if someone tries to do so.The point I'm trying to make is that the "Indian female worker unit" in the game should not be dark as it is cited in the Mauryan faction details rather it should be slightly fair.I don't need the topic to be dragged any deeper so I'll wind it up.Once again I'm sorry if I've hurt you. @Shield Bearer : Just in case if you didn't know, women in India even now wear sarees.
  2. @lilstewie : Sorry, I made a mistake in my previous post.I should have posted from "wheat coloured to brownish" with wheat coloured ones being less common instead of just "wheat coloured"and I do agree that Indians aren't as fair as Europeans due to the climate of India.Mauryans were based in North India as their capital was in Pataliputra(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maurya_Empire).Most of Chandragupta Maurya's kingdom was spread in north and north eastern India(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chandragupta_Maurya#Conquest_of_Seleucus.27_eastern_territories). @Sighvatr :I too don't want to cite wikipedia as a reference but, as I'm from India I can assure you that whatever references I've cited is accurate as it complies with what I was taught when I was studying history. @Pureon : Do refer to Age of Empires 3 : Asian Dynasties as the Indian female worker is depicted accurately; be it dress or colour complexion.
  3. I'm citing some factual errors which have gone into the making of the Mauryan Indians faction. http://trac.wildfiregames.com/wiki/Civ%3A_Mauryans#SUPPORTUNITS The appearance of "Indian Woman" is cited as dark skin. But, as the game is dealing with Mauryan Empire, which had its empire stretched till the present day Karnataka state (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/India#Subdivisions) and not the entire south India, the appearance should be changed to fair in complexion or somewhat similar to the colour of wheat. This is due to the fact that north India is cooler and south India is much hotter (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Climate_of_India#Regions) and hence north Indians are more fair in complexion than their southern siblings. It is also cited that "Indian Woman" is bare breasted and for game purpose she'll wear a simple cloth wrapped over her breasts but, in reality Indian women wore "sari" which can be traced back to Indus valley civilization (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sari#Origins_and_history).So, instead of a simple cloth, the dress worn should be changed to a sari like in Age of Empires 3. One more error: In the history of Warrior caste it is spelled as "Kshatriya or Kashtriya"(http://trac.wildfiregames.com/wiki/Civ%3A_Mauryans#CIVBONUSES) but is only "Kshatriya" and not "Kashtriya" (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kshatriya). I hope I've provided enough references to correct the errors.
