  1. Any word on an "official" Fedora 17 repository? Although, perhaps I will check out the user provided rpm.
  2. I can see why that would be more helpful. I will try to replicate it and post better details in the proper forum. Was with the development version a couple weeks ago. It was only one scenario and I could set the trade cog's route but it would only go to the other dock and then wait there. Would have to send it back and forth manually.
  3. I can connect to myself with two windowed instances of the game, which is a good sign. That is a good point. I've only recently started fooling about with svn and versioning in general, so I'm pretty unfamiliar with its functionality: particularly on the command line side of things. That said, I've discovered I can connect to a game hosted on Alpha X on my laptop from the compiled build on Fedora 17. (Though it does throw a bunch of map related errors at the screen). Works using both internal and external i.p (port forwards to laptop). However, if I host from Fedora, I cannot connect to the game from my laptop. I changed the port forwarding and tried both internal and external i.p. address.
  4. Trade cogs don't work properly and being able to turn the menu music off would be superduper
  5. The only unexpected difficulties I've had with Fedora 17 has been the multiplayer. It's difficult to say where in the process things are going wrong. Ultimately, regardless of which way we've attempted the connection there has been a "Lost connection to the server, unknown reason" message. I'm running behind a router, but the port forward is working fine. I can see it in the router logs and it worked when I tried on my Windows laptop and we both ran the stable version. I tried creating a temporary iptables rule to accept all inputs, to see if that was it, no such luck. I can only assume the compilation worked as intended on the other end. I was told that the game runs normally. She compiled and I updated and re-compiled on the same day using the suggested rebuild.sh script. The only thing that I haven't tried is running the current alpha, but that wasn't an option for Fedora 17, hence my post.
  6. I would just like to add my voice to the people who use Fedora 17 and play this game. I have a friend who uses Windows 7, and I use Fedora 17. Even when we both downloaded and compiled on the same day, we just could not get multiplayer working. When I booted up my Windows laptop and I installed the stable alpha, no problems at all. Multiplayer works just fine. Would also love to see Fedora 17 "supported".
  7. I've often thought it would be very nice to have a unit(s)' pathfinding route visible (like when you set a garrison point), and be able to modify it by clicking and dragging the line. Has there ever been an RTS with this kind of thing implemented? Not a huge gamer so I would not be in the best position to know.
