Reminds me of those 15 guys that died when their chopper got shot down on the way to take them on R&R.

As far as birthrates go... if anything, people in Europe should stop using protection!!! Population in Europe has actually been decreasing for the past 10 years. Also, the only reason America's population increases is from immigration.
We hear a lot about the population explosion of the world. By 2050 we'll have 12 billion people, but the real problem is the vast majority of those people will live in underdeveloped countries where poverty is already rampant. The population in developed countries by that time will actually have decreased by 5-10%. However, some projections show (and here projections vary wildly) by 2100 total world population will decrease from the 12 billion high to about 8-10 billion. This is all due to birth rates. Unfortunately, it's hard to form a plan of action based on the available data, let alone decide if we need a plan of action in the first place.
Okay, now back to sex ed....

What country are you from again Klaas? Here in Puritanical America people get all bent out of shape when schools allow condoms to be available.... let alone teach sexual intercourse technique!!!
BTW - I'm with you though. It should be more open.

How old are you?

This is a good quiz, as it gives me the same results as 2 other similar quizes by other organizations. I am classified as a left-libertarian as I always thought.
Economic Left/Right: -2.50
Libertarian/Authoritarian: -3.54

To which "core" aspect are you refering, Intrepid?

I get annoyed with women who go ballistic over discussions like this.
Anyway, it's not like they don't have similar discussions regarding men.
Klaas has the right idea though. Women tend to do the "communal" thing. They hunt in "packs" and feel in "packs." They ostracize other females quite often, and use cliques as a form of warfare. When a woman hates another person, her friends usually get in on the act as well. Pack behavior. The adolescent female world is quite vicious in that sense, and in one form or another they usually carry it into adulthood.
It's been my experience that women will use men for status. Women usually marry "up" the ladder, choosing a mate that will financially support her and her offspring. This is as much natural selection, I believe, as it is cultural.
I could go on and on, but what I will say is there are usually those that break the stereotype as well. Obviously, those are the ones I go for.

I think all towers should be long and skinny. All temples should be a rectangle. All civ centres should be square! Yeah! hehe

Either a diplomat, a freelance artist, screenwriter, or history teacher.... maybe all.

Because it's my last name.
As far as the EU breakup, I was illustrating the differences in the two situations.

As with anything else, a piece of art is "worth" what someone will pay for it. How is it more commercial now than before??

Add me to Adam's camp.

Libertarian with a dash here and there of cultural liberalism and economic conservatism.

Oil: To clear something up the latest estimates give the world another century of oil supply. Running out of oil "in a few years" just isn't based in current fact, and such thought belongs to the reactionary times of the 1970s and 80s. New sources of oil are found constantly and new ways are developed of estimating the capacity of oil fields.
Furthermore, once that century of oil runs out I highly doubt we will fall into total anarchy because of its absence. Mankind has always sought out and found new sources of power - from wind, to firewood, to coal, to oil, to nuclear power, to solar cells, to hydrogen, to hydroelecticity. The demise of oil will be no different.
American Imperialism: No free thinking American will deny the imperialistic acts performed by our government throughout history. However, when considering the acts of other world powers, these acts are comparitively tame. Would you anti-Americans prefer Chinese world dominance? Russian? Another imperialist European hegemony? Mark my words - without the United States the rest of you will have to choose one of those options.
European Armament: It would behoove the Europeans to learn from the Soviet disaster. The Soviet Union thought it could win an arms race with the United States and lost. The difference here is, the only reason the Europeans want to challenge the U.S. is for pride's sake. Riddle me this: Given history, which camp will the developing countries of the world choose? American or European? Again, much like America has had to do many times in its place of world prominence, those developing world "swing" countries will have to choose the lesser of two "evils" based on their own circumstances.
Iraq: I for one think there are less expensive ways of securing oil than invading a country the size of Iraq. The whole oil argument here is bullocks. It's a thin veil to hide contempt for the U.S. I for one think it interesting how the Europeans fought so hard for U.N. control over the situation. The Europeans support the U.N. fully, they say. That's what they say, but not what they do, when they illegaly trade with Iraq for years despite U.N. sanctions to the contrary. Talk about the hypocracy of Europe - accusing the U.S. of violating International Law.
All that aside, I really didn't support the Iraq War. I felt the whole WMD issue was weak and I felt Afghanistan was a much more important job to finish. Because Osama bin Laden is still alive and well, I will not vote to reelect our president.
The Disintegration of the Union: A second American Civil War bringing about the desolution of the United States as a political entity: idiotic pipe dream. Where do you guys come up with this stuff - Sci-Fi conventions or gun shows? It makes me laugh when non-Americans predict such a thing. Now, the desolution of the EU is much more likely and I'll tell you why: The EU is made up of independant countries - the United States is not.
American Isolationism: With this, I agree, with modifications. I say withdrawal from the Eastern Hemishpere and turn our focus to the Western Hemisphere. Let's put our energies into building the kind of nation we truly want. Let's solve our own economic and cultural problems first. Then, help to create a stable and less corrupt Mexico. Shore up South America. Build anew our relationship with the Canadians. Finally annex Cuba (just kidding). You get the idea. Then, we can take our place again amongst world affairs from a position of strength, and live up to the promise of our founding edicts by conquering not with war, but by EXAMPLE. That's what I wish would occur. I like to call this: The Hafer Doctrine.

Errr.... what Heaven Games site is that? 0ad.heavengames.com?
-
So, when do we add it to the game?

I always knew there was a full scale reproduction of the Parthenon somewhere in the United States, but forgot where. I finally found it!
I urge all to check it our here: http://www.nashville.gov/parthenon/index.htm
The cool part about it is they just completed a full size reproduction of the Athena statue standing inside. She is even wearing a gold leaf peplos.

Well, there's a point where you can't please everyone. One of this game's main features is the border issue and build radii.

Yeah, "Rise and Rule..." really did suck. I bought it before the "Age of Empires" days. Anyway, if you can dig it up somewhere I really recommend listening to the soundtrack. Great stuff.
-
Anyone ever played the old game called "Rise and Ruler of Ancient Empires." It really wasn't that great of a game, except one point: The Music. Great stuff.

I think he's saying there could be an eye candy unit. Probably in the form of a pig called, "Capitalist Pig." I think it'd be even funnier if there was a zombie like unit for the editor. I'd call it, "Pinko Commie."
PS: I apologize to any Pinko Commies or Capitalist Pigs I might have offended in the above post.

I'm on it!
Wonders could also have two uses in the game. In a "standard" game wonders could act like others have said for special bonuses (RON, EE). In "Wonder Race" games wonders could act as game-enders (AOE, AOK, etc.)
-
There's making it complicated, then there's adding depth. Make it too simple and easy and serious players will abandon the game in less than a month.
Interesting Thing About Units

I like this idea. Give every unit an instant kill action, ala myth units in AOM.
