- No minimum firing distance and Melee combat for ranged units. Just like in AoE III, giving them a knife or shortsword to use when their enemy is in contact. This would prevent them from routing constantly trying to shoot from the distance. It's very annoying to go chasing a single archer, or having to move an archer all the time so that he gets in the minimum accepted range

- Melee attack for women. Make it @#$% if you want, but at least let them defend theirselve

That would negate the difference between support citizens (females) and citizen-soldiers (males trained at civil centre). Because support units are much cheaper (only 50 wood), their capabilities should reflect this. A better solution would be to have those weak units flee the scene. Currently they let themselves get butchered. I believe there was a discussion on this not too long ago, so there might be progress on this in the future. Spartan female units DO have some attack capabilities though, which is why training them costs 60 wood. Without sufficient attack strength and armour being able to defend themselves is only a stop-gap measure, I think. Eventually they would have to be moved to safer locations (or buildings) anyway, if the enemy attack involves more than just a few weak units.

There are actually a few problems in the unit AI, it doesn't handle min and max range very well. We should solve that, which should prevent the endless chasing behavior, but there are cases were a second attack type would help, like killing domestic animals - there's no reason to stand around throwing javelins at a chicken when a knife would do it :)

Also: make artillery units be pushed by the amount of people it costs population. its wierd to have a catapult spoking around, moving by itself. No gost stories plz

This is planned, assuming we have resources to work on the animations.
