njo Posted July 12, 2011 Share Posted July 12, 2011 Hi, I'm trying to start 0ad, but I keep getting the error: "There was an error launching the application."Details: Failed to execute child process "/home/jjo/Desktop/0ad/build/resources" (Permission denied)0ad.desktop is what im trying to run, I downloaded build and data files from sourceforge, I've tried chmod and chown commands, with no luck, I can't install the 0ad repositories because there isnt one for my system (openSUSE 11.1)I've tried changing the permissions of the file, with no luck. Ykkrosh Posted July 12, 2011 Share Posted July 12, 2011 OpenSUSE 11.1 hasn't been supported by its developers since about six months ago, so you probably ought to upgrade to a newer version for security fixes etc. If you're not using a packaged version of the game, you need to follow the build instructions to compile it yourself, then run the "pyrogenesis" executable which it creates.
