Multiplayer mode?

Is it possible to play the game in multiplayer mode? I tried with a friend of mine but we get this error.
Do you have to chance settings in your router? Please help me!!!! I am not a very technical guy.

Of course you can.

@ArjenSDdo you play in the same network or do you want to play over the internet? I assume you search for the Gamelobby to play over the internet.

For that you just need a username and a password, accept all the "Trems of something". Then you should be able to play with your friends outside of your network without the need to change something  on your router.
