Alek
When I check out http://svn.wildfiregames.com/public/ps/trunk, I get the following error message:OPTIONS of 'http://svn.wildfiregames.com/public/ps/trunk': Could not resolve hostname 'svn.wildfiregames.com': The requested name is valid, but there isn't found data from the requested type.(Could be slightly different from the text on an english computer, I've tried to translate the dutch text to english)What do I have to do? Ykkrosh
Hmm, sounds like some kind of DNS issue... A few things to try:Can you open http://svn.wildfiregames.com/public/ps/trunk in a web browser? Are you connecting to the internet through some kind of proxy? What OS are you using? If you can run "ping svn.wildfiregames.com", does it give some kind of error message or does it work and give a proper IP address?Does it work if you wait a while and try again? Alek
1) Yes, I can open it in a web browser.2) I connect to the internet by a network, so I'm dependent of another computer.3) I use TortoiseSVN.4) I get an error message 'can't find the host svn.wildfiregames.com'5) I don't think so.I hope this could help you Edit: And now, the error message says: OPTIONS of 'http://svn.wildfiregames.com/public/ps/trunk': could not connect to server (http://svn.wildfiregames.com)Edit 2: Pinging works to svn.wildfiregames.com.Edit 3: And now pinging doesn't work again and the error message is 'could not resolve...'. Alek
Any ideas what to do?
Ykkrosh
(Sorry, forgot to reply!)As far as I'm aware the server is fine and nobody else has encountered problems, so it sounds like a problem on your network, but I have no idea what the problem actually is . The intermittent failures with ping seem particularly strange. I can't think of anything to suggest, other than temporarily disabling any firewall software to see if that helps, or trying it on a different computer. janwas
hm, indeed strange. When you say "connect via network" - are you using a proxy? If so, you need to notify TortoiseSVN, it apparently doesn't automatically copy Internet Explorer's settings.
Alek
And how do I notify TortoiseSVN?
janwas
Context menu -> Settings -> Network.
Alek
I've done that, but now I get another error message:Server sent unexpected return value (400 Bad Request) in response to REPORT request for '/public/!svn/vcc/default'
Ykkrosh
That sounds like you're connecting through a proxy which is incompatible with SVN (specifically some extensions to HTTP). Depending on what proxy it is, it might or might not be possible to configure it to allow that; if not, I don't think there's much you can do without finding a different way to connect to the internet. arn34
Sounds like a similar problem I encountered (see http://www.wildfiregames.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=12489). I was connecting through a proxy. From home, it works perfectly ...
Alek
Now I'm using it on another computer and it works perfectly! But I've another question: could I pause and resume the proces of checking out, because I've got a very slow internet connection, so it takes very long to check it out. Ykkrosh
Yes - if you cancel it half-way through (I assume TortoiseSVN has an obvious button somewhere), then (if I remember correctly) you can use the context menu (in the checkout folder) -> TortoiseSVN -> Update command to resume downloading everything.
