  1. Ok, so here's the deal. I have this lovley little virus on my system called WIN32/Parite. Every anti-virus program and sevice I have tried detects this virus in over 400 files on my system, but can not clean them. Rather, it sugests deleting them. Problem? 20 of the infect files are in my Windows/System32 folder, including kernal.exe.

Reformat? Done it. Full reformat? Out of the question. Over seven years of programming, net scouring, and accumulation and re-accumulation of Star Trek CAN NOT be lost.

Ok, what I did was reformat the hard drive holding Windows. I then re-installed Windows, and installed a virus scanner from a clean source. The idea was, don't let the virus run from the data dump drive, have no problem. No dice. For some reason, Windows is allowing these .exe files to run without a user request, without a system directive, without anything. It's like their's a ghost in the machine, if you will.

Ohh GOODY!!! A pop-up box just informed me that my virus scanner has now been infected! Ohh joy of the World, oh extasy of bliss! I think I'm going to KILL EVERYONE. Gaarara!!!!

Can anyone, and I mean ANYONE give me some advise here?

Yea, anyway... My name is Brad, but everybody just calls me Q. I was origionaly the lead programer on the 0 A.D. project way back in the day, but left due to inexperiance with management. Now I'm back, and I've been told I'll be on the general programming team.

Hope to see some familiar faces.
