  1. Great screenshot. The terrain is gorgeous, as usual. Will the Thermopylae Pass be included,as well? Maps like narrow passes could serve as a kind of battle tutorial (as well as the preferred map when we wanna station a line of hoplites and slaughter thousands of onrushing barbarians).

  2. Will it be possible for units such as hoplites to assume multiple formations, like ducking down behind their shields to avoid arrow showers or shield wedges to break cavalry charges? Or will it just be phalanx or bust?

  3. Realistically speaking, Aeneas could, in no way, be related to the founding of Rome for the following three reasons --

    (1) The ideally accepted date of the fall of Troy is roughly around 1180 - 1190 BCE.

    (2) Rome was founded some 400 years after the fall of Troy.

    (3) How could Aeneas and the fleeing Trojans have sailed to Carthage when said city wasn't founded till around 500 BCE?

    (4) As maybe obvious by the facts listed above, Rome was founded aproximately 350 years before Carthage!

The article is a great, well-written read, though. I applaud the 0 AD staff for the amount of research you're all putting into it. I wish the Total War series, while awesome and fun to play, was as accurate. I hope to play this game when it releases.
