  1. Well I am slightly confused

    Hey fede_histpop!

I have encountered that you haven't posted within a long time on the Wildfire Games Community Forums. This is just a request for you to state whether everything is okay. The community cares about you and would like to have you back.

Seems as if this got sent to the wrong person... Unless someone changed my name without telling me :).

  2. Perhaps its only in the area of the UK I am living in, where specificly in the UK do you live? I live in Wales I guess it isnt all of Wales but I cannot confearm that without more information.

  3. www.unipeak.com is a servace to get around blocks (it is used because the chinese goverment I think block websites that they dont want the pepole to view.) NTL is my ISP yes, I would make a phone call but unfortunatly I am only 14 and I can guess what comment my dad would make if I asked him

"Good maby that will stop you going on the computure so much then."

Maybe you need to set your proxy address or something?

Can you elaborate on that or explain how to do it?

Oh no other websites seem to be effected by this and I have checked with HG admins I havnt been IP banned.

  4. It seems for some obsucure and unkown reason that NTL in my area has blocked all the HG websites B). The reason I know its NTL is because I have turned off all my firewalls, turned off all my security still no cheese. Then I went onto my dads PC still no diffrence. The only way I can get onto it is with Unipeak. I have tried diffrent browsers with no avail. Please someone give me some sort of solution to stopping NTL blocking it? Some marvouls program that over rides the block.

Help me obi wan keno- screw it, give me your help please, anyone

  5. Personaly I hope the celts are naked (no not because I am gay.) But because it is historicly acurate and personaly it would rock to see what the enemy says. I mean in an RTS if you start getting beaten up by naked warriors when your troops have amour on you are going to feel quite pwned :D .

Personaly I want naked celts to own with B). Not to mention its historical acuracy.

  6. I am an avid fan of the Morrigan in Mythology but I have noticed in my favourite texts the words she speaks about the end of the world and relatively accurate.

I shall not see a world that will be dear to me

    Summer without flowers

    Kine will be without milk,

    Women without modesty,

    Men without valor,

    Captures without a king...

    Woods without mast,

    Sea without produce...

    Wrong judgments of old men,

    False precedents of lawyers,

    Every man a betrayer,

    Every boy a reaver

Son will enter his fathers bed,

Father will enter his son's bed,

Every one will be his brother's brother in law....

    An evil time!

    Son will deceive his father,

    Daughter will deceive her mother

I have bolded the specific passages that are happening, but I have italiced those passages that people might be in dispute over.

I am going to comment currently on the bolded sections.

In Wales at least we do not capture with a king, instead we have a democratic elected parliament to start wars B) and the army does the capturing (the closest you could get to this in modern day would possibly be a field general or someone of high rank.)

Wood is no longer used for masts but metal is used instead

Lawyers make false precedents (I don’t think this needs elaborating but correct me if I am wrong.

I am now going to elaborate on the italic text

Not all women have no modesty but the levels of women that do has gone up, to see what I mean just drive around a street corner and look for the ladies of the night.

Again not all men are like this but there are quite a lot of men that I don’t think could be or would be heroic in anyway.

Once again its a case of not all of them but quite a few, face it how ever saint like or how ever old you are you will make false judgements yet it seems the older you are the more you make false judgments. Again this is just my opinion.

The last one I haven’t done in bold because I know just one person is going to come along and say well I never lied to my dad, face it you all lie to your father at one time. No matter what its on you do lie to him.

The rest of the text could happen and may happen.

    Note about me

I am an Atheist but I am interested in Celtic Mythology, I have not posted this up here to get shot down because there is only one God by Christians. Personally I believe if gods ever did exist then they do no longer and what we have left is but an echo of the voice.

  7. Welsh has mutated over the years, so you would need to find possibly an old copy of the mabanogion or possibly talk to someone who knows the language intimatly.

Unfortunatly even though I live in Wales and was born in Wales I just can't speak Welsh.

OT: But I do love the Celtic tales of Branwen and the Myth of the Morrigan*. If its possible can you add these words that the morrigan was meant to have spoken in some sort of writen passage related to the celts.

I shall not see a world that will be dear to me

    Summer without flowers

    Kine will be without milk,

    Women without modesty,

    Men without valor,

    Captures without a king...

    Woods without mast,

    Sea without produce...

    Wrong judgments of old men,

    False precedents of lawyers,

    Every man a betrayer,

    Every boy a reaver

Father will enter his son's bed,

Every one will be his brother's brother in law....

    An evil time!

    Son will deceive his father,

    Daughter will deceive her mother.

It is her prophacy of the end of the world

*Celtic goddess of Death and destruction.

  8. I think I might I have found the height of the Balrog

    Source http://www.glyphweb.com/arda/default.htm?h.../b/balrogs.html

The objection this raises is quite significant: it's very hard to explain how this behemoth had lived for more than a thousand years in an underground city designed for Dwarves. As a specific example, consider the Chamber of Mazarbul, which appears just before the Company's encounter with the Balrog. There's plenty of textual evidence about the entrance to this room. For example:

[13] "...orcs one after another leaped into the chamber."

The Fellowship of the Ring II 5 The Bridge of Khazad-dûm

    (our italics)

    ...and, a moment later, they...

        [14] "...clustered in the doorway."

The Fellowship of the Ring II 5 The Bridge of Khazad-dûm

This is obviously a fairly narrow opening. Somehow, though, the Balrog manages to follow the orcs into the Chamber through this entrance. If a Balrog is built on the huge scale we've just discussed, it could not possibly have used this narrow entrance.

The logic of this seems inescapable: we have to scale down the Balrog to get him through the door. He can still be of 'a great height' (2) - say ten feet tall or so - but he can't realistically be much larger than this. This idea is supported to an extent by this description from the The History of Middle-earth:

"[the Balrog] strode to the fissure, no more than man-high yet terror seemed to go before it."

The History of Middle-earth Volume VII (The Treason of Isengard), X The Mines of Moria II: The Bridge

This is a rejected draft, so it can't be put forward as any kind of proof. It does give some insight, though, into the kind of scale that Tolkien had in mind for the Balrog. It's also borne out by the fact that he had to 'leap' (6) across the fissure, and that he stepped onto a bridge (7) so narrow that Dwarves could only cross it in single file. These are the actions of a more-or-less man-sized creature, not a giant.

    Now worship me ;)
