compare Cavalry

it seems to me that different cavalry have few attributes in common. everyone has speed. that's easy to compare.

Example:

Indian Light Cav has:

Capture 2,5, Range 4m, every 1sec
Javelin, 18.0, 30m every 1.25sec

Camel Archer

Capture 2,5, Range 4m, every 1sec
Bow, 7.0, 60m every 1sec

So has Javelin the same effect like Bow?

Not at all. Javelin cavary will win in a close range battle because they have higher damage per second, whereas camels can take advantage of their extra range to harass units while standing safely from afar. Camel rush on infantry is fatal as they can escape easily then return when you want to retreat.

On the other hand, if you would like to engage a huge army, the javelin cavalry's superior damage will make them to better option as they can wipe out enemy units more quickly to ensure a win.

then I expressed myself too vaguely. is the type of damage the same (sure: if seconds and meter were also the same, of course)

in other words:

Javelin, 10.0, 50m every 1sec
Bow,      10.0, 50m every 1sec

is that the same? Only the name is different here. Is this then the same damage?

Dude? Are you ok? Did someone take over your account?

you can repeat a thing 300 times without some of the questions explaining themselves.. thanks. that helps me really.

now i understand jav and archer is really the same. the two differ only (usually) in their key attributes.

I don't know where you got this data from and I don't think it is correct. Javelins have range of 35m and Bows have 60m

Javlin attacks once every 1.25 seconds

Bow has damage of 7 and Javelins 16

i will glad (also for (all?) beginners) it will written in a day in future like so:

Archer:
Pierce: 6.7 60meter 1seconds

or

Archer (using Bow):
Pierce: 6.7 60meter 1seconds

or

Archer (Dhanrdhar Longbowman using Bow):
Pierce: 6.7 60meter 1seconds

---

or

Archer:
6.7pierce 60meter 1seconds

or

Archer (using Bow):
6.7pierce 60meter 1seconds

or

Archer (Dhanrdhar Longbowman using Bow):
6.7pierce 60meter 1seconds

---

at the moment (and last years) it look for me, with my screen and my ayes, like:

Dhanrdhar( Longbowman)
Bow: 6.7Pierce, Range: 60meters, Interval: 1seconds

Pierce  i hadn't read it and even now it's very hard to read

Question aboout DamagePerSecond:
DE: bezieht sich der DPS auf die jeweils stärkste Eigenschaft?
EN: does the DPS refer to the strongest skill?

@seeh 不,它加起来了。 如果您查看 @a 0ad 玩家 发布的表格,您会看到“Stich 3 + Hieb 2,5 = 5,5 DPS”。

It's not that simple. In fact, the three damage types must be multiplied by the corresponding armor value to know the specific DPS. For example, the damage value of the spearman is 3 hack+2.5 piercing, the attack interval is 1 second, and the attack has 5 (41%) hack armor+3 (27%) piercing armor cavalry, then the formula should be 3×(1-41%)+2.5×(1-27%), that is to say, if a unit’s attack is divided into two damage type, its DPS would be cumbersome to calculate.
So I actually don't like giving a unit multiple damage types at the same time, see previous discussion。
