seeh
it seems to me that different cavalry have few attributes in common. everyone has speed. that's easy to compare. Example: Indian Light Cav has: Capture 2,5, Range 4m, every 1sec Javelin, 18.0, 30m every 1.25sec Camel Archer Capture 2,5, Range 4m, every 1sec Bow, 7.0, 60m every 1sec So has Javelin the same effect like Bow? Javelin cavary will win in a close range battle because they have higher damage per second, whereas camels can take advantage of their extra range to harass units while standing safely from afar. Camel rush on infantry is fatal as they can escape easily then return when you want to retreat. On the other hand, if you would like to engage a huge army, the javelin cavalry's superior damage will make them to better option as they can wipe out enemy units more quickly to ensure a win.

Only the name is different here. Is this then the same damage? Edited July 28, 2022 by seeh

a 0ad player

Gurken Khan
@seeh No, it's added up. If you look at the table @a 0ad player posted you see "Stich 3 + Hieb 2,5 = 5,5 DPS".
AIEND
7 hours ago, Gurken Khan said: @seeh 不,它加起来了。 如果您查看 @a 0ad 玩家 发布的表格,您会看到“Stich 3 + Hieb 2,5 = 5,5 DPS”。 It's not that simple. In fact, the three damage types must be multiplied by the corresponding armor value to know the specific DPS. For example, the damage value of the spearman is 3 hack+2.5 piercing, the attack interval is 1 second, and the attack has 5 (41%) hack armor+3 (27%) piercing armor cavalry, then the formula should be 3×(1-41%)+2.5×(1-27%), that is to say, if a unit’s attack is divided into two damage type, its DPS would be cumbersome to calculate. So I actually don't like giving a unit multiple damage types at the same time, see previous discussion。
