Civ: Epirotes

Alexander the Molossian was the founder of Epirotes and rebuilt Molossian tribe, therefore we can give him some eco bonus. He also fought bravely against the Lucanians so we can also give him an attack bonus.

Aura: Champions + 10% attack

Hero Bonus: All workers gather 20% faster

Special tech: more territory influence?

I think we can give Alexander II some bonuses to do with recovery in desperate situations and healing. Perhaps something like units within 60 meters of him gain 2 hp per second and women can build 30% faster (useful if your cc is knocked down).

@wowgetoffyourcellphone, Alexander I can have auras pertaining to enemy mercenaries as he fought against Italic tribes. Alexander II to friendly and allied mercenaries since he was likely allied with the Aetolians in retaking Epirus.

Alexander I should not have the thureos skirmisher and Galatian swordsman as the oval shield has not been introduced to Hellenistic warfare yet. Suggest peltastai and Thracian as replacements. The faction can be divided into pre-Hellenistic and Hellenistic era subfactions, with differing unit rosters:

Pre-Hellenistic:

  • Epirote hoplite
  • Epirote peltast/Lucanian skirmisher
  • Prodromos cavalry skirmisher
  • Thessalian lancer
  • Illyrian or Italic spearman
  • Illyrian swordsman or Thracian rhomphaiaphoros
  • Cretan archer
  • Allied Greek or Ilyrian light cavalry
  • Chaonian hoplite (or hypaspist)
  • Molosson hippeus (bodyguard cavalry)
  • Heroes: Neoptolemus I and Alexander I

Hellenistic:

I am not sure two factions is needed.

Maybe something like how choosing Cleomenes give Sparta Pikemen,

Pyrrhus and Alexander II have standard hellenistic roster.

and if you pick Alexander I you get a more classical roster.

Right.

Alex I -> Pyrrhus, Alex II

Akontistai -> Thyreophoroi

Hoplite -> Phalangite

Prodromos -> Tarantine Cavalry

That would really be all that's needed to show an evolution. Maybe change the Chaonians = Hoplite/Hypaspist -> Heavy Phalangites

Here is another possible wonder instead of the (not yet modeled) "Oracle Shrine at Dodona" (which is unfortunately too big as for fitting properly within the wonder's average size). Notice how the "Sanctuary of Artemis Orthia" from Spartians is neither properly represented as a wonder (lacking particularly those bleachers that shape similarly to a theater). And at this point even the current Greek Theater looks small.

(It would require an artistic reconstruction too, just like the "Oracle Shrine at Dodona").

In my humble opinion, the architecture looks a little more similar to the one of the Spartans than to the one of the Macedonians. (And maybe an historian could correct this). But for differentiating them from the Thebans and the upcoming Syracusians, they could use Spartans textures and (some) buildings.

But seeing as alexander I was placed on the throne by Phillip and stayed under his wing for a while, wouldn't he like phillip in thebes pick up his guardian's reforms ?
