Nonsense. Fascist forces within the country have been in control for decades. It's only now that the people are fighting back. We demand:

End the War on Drugs

• The War on Drugs was implemented by President Nixon in the 1970s, specifically to target black people and liberals
• We should: Legalize Marijuana, Decriminalize all other drugs (send people to rehab instead of prisons)

End Qualified Immunity

• Qualified immunity is a legal doctrine in United States federal law which shields government officials (police) from being held personally liable for discretionary actions performed within their official capacity even if their victim's civil rights were violated. This needs to be abolished.

End Civil Asset Forfeiture

• Civil asset forfeiture is a legal tool that allows law enforcement officials to seize property that they assert has been involved in certain criminal activity. In fact, the owner of the property doesn't even need to be guilty of a crime. This needs to be abolished.

End the Private Prison Complex

• The United States has 128,063 people incarcerated in private prisons. This creates a perverse incentive (profit motive) to keeping people locked up. This has to end.

On this topic, I highly recommend the two episodes of Joe Rogan's podcast with Dr. Carl Hart, he is one of the leading experts in drug research. It's good to see that California, Colorado and Washington have legalized marihuana. The tax revenue that they are collecting because of it is significative.

True, the differences between the US and Europe (and indeed, between different European countries) in the way minorities are treated are legion, historically and currently. That's why I post that documentary. I'll link it again, since it is very powerful and even opened my eyes to a few things I was ignorant of. The section about the old silent film "Birth of a Nation," where the KKK is lionized is particularly shocking in the way it invigorated the movement toward black suppression. 

 

What I've run into in the US is how some whites like to pretend these protests or incidents are isolated, fully encapsulated events. They like to point out certain data points throughout history, as if history is not a continuum. "No black person alive has ever been a slave," or "Everyone has equal rights under the law already, what more can you want?" And many people are just plain ignorant. Schools teach about the civic rights struggle, but it's a cursory glance and easily forgotten. Often, school instruction on these related issues are not only insufficient, but somewhat counterproductive due to its selective nature. Folks then wonder why college students get radicalized once they learn the real truth hidden from them by their primary educators and parents. The book, "The Lies My Teacher Told Me," is a great introduction here.

ANTIFA literally means anti-fascist. As such, it is not an actual organization with a hierarchy or leadership. Anyone can claim to be ANTIFA, including ALT-RIGHT groups masquerading as them.

I'm locking this thread. It just seems to cause trouble and conflict, without rendering any benefit to anyone - rather anger and hatred. I'm sure there are aspects which can be discussed in a meaningful way, but most of this topic has not proved to be very meaningful. Let the forums be a place where we discuss the game and its development, and related topics where it might be relevant. But please try and stay away from more controversial subjects, even if they are meaningful to you, the likelihood that you will influence someone else is very slim, but the likelihood that you will make people angry and act stupid is massive.
