looks weird unit.I mean looks from othervtimeframe. this is very nice.

It would have been quite risky to heavily alter civ set colour pallette. Specially between old-school "purists" gamers, since this is an original Ensemble Studios designed civ. Civs that were later ad

they even remaster the icons this time. the icons looks very nice with renders.

this look so bad.

Yikes, lol... I see Malian villagers are still white people, because why not... And what's up with those walls?

The buildings looks so generic. Sad because the Mali Empire was one of the pioneers of the Sudano-Sahelian architecture style, which is pretty distinct and still popular in the region today... I'm sure we can do a lot better for one of our future mods...

Spoiler

Sudano-Sahelian architecture:

the mesoamericans looks white to ,As it is easier to play with all units looking the same for all civilization

But playing with the small tree mod is bad and dirty

also @Sundiata , those are feudal age buildings, they didn't change from HD

I never liked their look in HD either :P Just their mosque and wonder is really well done. The rest of the set is a little meh (same for the Ethiopians), but then again, age of Empires goes for uniformity over historical accuracy, so they have a very narrow format to work with, I think.

no need for an us vs them mentality, its looking good so far

But you're right. I don't mean to sh*t-talk AoE or anything, and this AoE II DE is looking promising. As I said I actually like a lot of the architecture sets. I'm just always a bit nit-picky with my favourite histories. Anyway, renewed popular interest in classic RTS games can only be good for us, so it's a win win either way.

I just wish that popular culture based its understandings of the Middle Ages from this game.  "Yeah, all of the male peasants made Schwarznagger look like a wimp."

next generation will be Christ Evans or Christ  Hemsworth Peasants.

they are close for this generation.Resultado de imagen para aoe villager

because money. takes hours render people.

Sprite based engine limitations. A villager have walk, hunt, build, slaughter, fishing, foraging, meat gather (hunt), meat gather (sheep), wood cutting, cutting the tree down, mining, shuttling food, shuttling wood, shuttling stone/gold, shuttling meat from hunt, shuttling meat from sheep, shuttling fish, shuttling berries, idle and death animation variations.

I have AoC, so I went ahead and took the sprites out a while ago. And I decided to count the number of sprites for the villagers. There were over 7000 sprites for a single unit (male and females combined).

$ cd Units/Villager && find . -name \*.png | wc -l
7035

Going 3D was the only reason 0AD manages to have so much unit variety.

35 civs each having unique unit variations would make the Genie engine cry.
