  1. Of course you all are Tottenham Hotspur fans.

I just wanted to share a beautiful art video of when Gareth Bale (Spurs winger) played against Inter Milan. It is football (YEAH YEAH, soccer) but it's really the art that makes this video insane. Please check it out and tell me if you love it as I do :)

As a sidenote.. It would probably be better if you watched the game in real life... still awesome though?

  2. I was just reading up on peoples statuses on facebook (yeah!) when i stumbled upon this little thing:

    "No on is illegal": http://womennewsnetwork.net/2010/12/08/3729/

Yeah it's a womans webpage, but the article is interesting for us all.

I want to clear up som subjects that appear in the article. Also, raise a discussion on the matter of immigration!.

    - Norway does not send out immigrats, illegal or legal, that has any risk of being killed. Having kept a known terrorists (Mr Krekar amongst others) should prove that to some extent.

    - Norway does not disciminate woman in any way or form as far as it is possible. There will always be discrimination in a society, but it will affect both genders more or less equally.

So, how do you all feel about immigration?

It makes me a little angry that this woman who is published in this article are crying out when our government has payed for her masters degree. How bad is it to be an immigrant in a country when the same country pays for a masters degree?!

Is it wrong of someone to expect some sort of gratitude?

    All these questions are hard.

Personally I believe it is wrong to expect gratitude. Why should anyone thank YOU (or me) for being given the very same opportunities as YOU? (or me)

At the same time, it's my grandfathers, fathers and my own taxmoney they are spending, on the immigrants themselves, their housing, their education and all that.

But then AGAIN, when they are fully intergrated (or working as taxidrivers ..) they do provide for my education by their taxes.

My personal view would have to be that immigration is OK, but immigrants breaking the law should be sent back. Of course, not for stealing a handbag, but for rape, murder, hard violence and so on and so forth...

Would this make immigration easier? Sending out the bad ones? Or is that unethical?

WOW, messy thread suddendly. Well, I hope you all get the picture. Now, what do YOU think!?

  3. Very true all you say. Even though I'm not to familiar with the American baby boomers and spending and so on...

Anyways, whats also alarming is that all kids today have to go to school for 8 years to get a decent job. Just a few years ago you could get a banking position as soon as you were done with 13th grade.

Today you AT LEAST need 3 years of university.

Which means people today have 4-5-6-7-8 years of studying (which means really low income, which means really not spending a lot) and that again means lower tax income to the government.

However, in Germany for instance, because of this (other reasons too) they have to start longer working weeks (38-45 hours a week) because there are not enough skilled labour out there. It's insane.!

  4. Well, hard to think of one right now, but I really like the "pep talk" that the President have in "Independence Day" (Starring among others Will Smith) before the last airplanes are going to attack the alians :P

Thats a mad speech that always gives me chills. At least the 3-4 times I've seen that movie.! :)

Oh, and of course Theodens speech in Lord of the Rings. Both of them actually.

  5. Well, there are two sides to this.

The first is that when illegal, kids think it is "cool", "rebellic" and all that to do drugs.

This would be eliminated if it was legal. In addition to all you already said.

The other one though, is impulsive. What if I wanted to try drugs, and it was legal? For a normal person with no need to get into jail or no need to be mad at my parents and do drugs, it would have been much more likely that I would do drugs if I could buy it legal somewhere downtown. Right?

    Amsterdam works.

But there is a big difference between Europe and the US when it comes to this. Because you guys don't get to drink untill you are 21. Which makes it much harder to do stuff. an 18 year old wants to party hard, wants to try new things, but I think lowering the alcohol level and making kids drink rather than getting high or stoned would be better.

But maybe that dont work over there. Barely works here :ok:

  6. About guns, YES they are criminal already. But the outcome of the crime is not decided if you know what I mean.

I can repeat: Lets say your a ok guy in a bad place in your life.

In a society where you can easily buy or aquire guns, you would. And then rob, lets say a 7\11 with that gun. The situation got out of hand and you shot someone. Prison = Life

Lets say the same guy, a pretty normal guy with some bad choices and unlucky and all that, robbed the same 7\11 without a gun. Lets say baseball bat. Would the outcome be as dramatic?

  7. Thanks for explaining :)

No, I don't think there would be more violence if guns were legal. BUT I do believe that the violence would be more damaging, if I can use that word.

Say it was really hard getting a handgun, what would you rob a store with?

A country where it is easy to get a handgun one would rob a store with a gun. And say the shopguy had a gun too. Think about the outcome.

Now think if NONE of them had guns. probably would it have a different outcome, cause none of the had the pressure against eachother where it was "my life or yours". Wow, I hope you get my point, I see it's hard for me to explain what I really mean in English :D

I don't really know too much about the prostitution subject, but I always read newspapers and watch the news. So thats my reference.

When legalized: Just as much "pimps" and trafficing as now. If not more.

What is good about it, as far as I know, is that it's easier to convict the people behind the operations, and also the customers.

They too do something illegal. Who in their right mind WANTS to be a prostitute? The case is, what else can they do? A better society would give them jobs that pay enough money for them to leave prostitution and work a legit job :ok:

Do you agree?: In a perfect world no one should ever have sex with someone they didn't want to have sex with. Right?

So in a perfect world, there should be no prostitution right?

Just saying, legalizing it doesnt make it go away, and it does not solve anything.

Making it illegal makes it easier to reduce it. But thats just my guess :)

  8. I would decriminalize most and fully legalize some. Use the tax receipts from their sale and manufacture for rehab programs. Not only would this be more human, but would save tax payers money.

If it was legal with heavier drugs, would it not destroy the nation? Everyone running around high, stoned or on speed? Never ever realizing the consequenses of their actions? It's like drinking, only much worse.

    1. I seriously doubt that the government "makes money" off incarcerating people for prostitution. It seems obvious to me that criminalizing the behavior is more costly than legalizing it and taxing it.

    2. That you support the incarceration of your countrymen for profit (real or imagined) is, quite frankly, sickening.

You only get a ticket for getting caught. About what would be around $2000. So money to the government, no jail = no real expenses.

I do NOT support it -because- they take money from the people using prostitutes, but because prostitution is a sick business. Human trafficing is a key word. Sexslaves is another. probably 90 % (just my guess, not a statistical fact) of the woman in Norway who are prostitutes are doing it against their will.

So NO, don't legalize it. Dont control it. It is a dirty and sick business with 50 year old men making a lot of money off of young woman that believe they are going to Norway to get a better life. That is whats sickening.

It is more difficult, currently, for law abiding citizens to get guns. Let me put it this way--criminals have an easier time getting their hands on guns than non-criminals do.

So you actually want people to get guns easier?

How about destroying all the weapons you can find, legal and illegal? Wouldnt it be better if the bad guys didnt have it, and you didnt have it? Rather than both of you having it?

The more liberal gunlaws are, the easier it is for the bad guys.

  9. I am a Protestant-Christian, and try to be the best I can.

I don't share the view some have about Christianity, and I don't try to make people believe what I believe. Your own personal bond with God and Christ is something for YOU. Don't look down on others who does not have that bond, don't look down on people that sin.

I sin. I drink. I have sex. I like homosexual people (as friends). Why should I ever judge them for what they find natural?

Also, the God I see as my own, would never hate them, would never condemn them to hell or anything like that. God loves us all, and I do seriously believe that we all will go the heaven one day!

And being understanding to other religions (Muslims, Jewish people and so on and so forth) is something all people should be. Of course. Why shouldnt we?

    Have a wonderful day everyone.

    Oh, and btw:

Discussing religion will never be a good thing. People that don't believe have very strong reasons why they dont (they have often been raised in some sort of religion, and it probably took a LOT of them breaking out, which make them extra enthusiastic) believe, and people believing often have strong reason why they believe. Pretty much a pointless discussion :ok: After my opinion! :)

  10. Would you legalize stronger drugs? Where does the line go there exactly? :ok:

Interesting reading, however I disagree on some of them.

Prostitution was legal in Norway till about two years ago (give or take) but no one really knows if it have helped making it illegal. The only thing I know is that the government makes money off of people getting caught. Which is OK for me, cause I don't do that :)

I do actually have a question: What do you mean, Gun Rights: Nuff said?

Probably a stupid question when you haven't answered it, but it really is funny to me how liberal the Americans are on this matter :)
