I also am a person who starts at the top. A person's face is more ot less their avatar, and avatars are always important in order to remember someone.

Phishing may be outlawed in my home state, but it'll be a different thing to see this law actually be enforced.
-
Yet another person that needs a good one.
-
Have a good one!
-
I also noticed that on the TLA Forums, the avatars are not centered properly. You might want to fix that too.
-
Have a good one Google!
What would we ever do without it? Use Yahoo?

Here's a article describing MERP. This goes to show that any question can be answered either with Wikipedia or Google. They are your friends.

Meh, I had a look at the humans. They seem to be just products from standard fantasy products like D&D in my opinion. I always get that impression when I see unneeded spikes on armor. The buildings also have some sort of "cartoonish" feel to them as well, which I intrepret as a bad omen.
-
I guess when it came to Tolkien's geography, he didn't bother adding a settlement if it wasen't important to the story. Which is a shame really. The only thing thus far that included settlements was the unofficial MERP maps.

@EKen132: Well, I'm very aware of the already existing Christain influences in Tolkien's work. I was referring to a more greater scale with actual referrences to God, the Devil, and et cetera. Similar to what happened to the translated Anglo-Saxon works.

In English 4 this week, I have the good fortune of starting off with Beowulf. What shocked me about the translation was that a whole bunch of references to God, the Devil, and other Christian concepts got inserted by monks when they translated the epic. Thus sadly, all the old references to the actual gods were cut out. It's really quite glaring when you see something that obviously wasen't there originally.
So I wonder what would happen to Arda if it was given the same treatment? I would assume Eru changes his name to God. Also, the Valar would be basically cut out, their role being filled in by God. Morgoth would still be there, except he would be a spawn of Satan rather than Eru. Any other ideas?

I made two, but because I realized that I could mark my exact house only after I placed the first one.
The one under "Cory" is my exact home, down to the pool and roof color. It was remarkably hard to find, considering that I didn't think to use the "hybrid", and had to do it all by the highway system and what I thought the roof of landmark buildings would look like.
Well I got rid of that first one then. I do have the power to delete locations at will since I created it.

Guess which am I?
Simple, you're the guy with the Mohawk.

Here's a product description off Amazon.
Basically it's just a collection of short "children's" stories by Tolkien that don't really tie in with the rest of the Arda mythos. Thus usually these stories are given a much lower status than HoME or even his Letters. For the most part they are excluded as canon Arda history. At least that's how I view it.

Hehe, we've talked about finding something that'd allowed us to place our home on some sort of map. Well someone on another forum I go on found the above and now the members of that forum are placing where they live. So what are you waiting for?
-
Hehe, thanks Dnas. I'm sure my buddies will laugh at that.
-
Like pyrolink said, provided your friend has a decent firewall set up (ZoneAlarm Personal is great and free), there's not much that could happen.
My buddy uses both Norton and ZoneAlarm, but the hacker in question says he can get through them both. In my opinion, I think he's full of it and just likes to scare people. But you could never be too carefull.....

I consider myself Agnostic, despite the fact I was baptized as a Catholic.

Well this guy apparently does have the IP addresses of his targets (or so he claims). Just what's possible with knowing one's IP address and if it's possible to be traced with it?
-
I'd never have showed up in this forum but a buddy of mine for another forum I go on has had has hacker difficulties. Apparently some person was added into her (and others) contact lists who's threatened to hack them if they don't keep them happy or block them. It's really quite troublesome how my MSN buddy seems to have developed this sort of "hostage mentallity". So is anyone here knowledgable in if computers can be hacked via MSN Messenger and what can be done to prevent this?
-
Hehe, tis such a same that such things would have to wait at least a decade until the average person can afford them.
-
I really don't see any problem here. Black Label Games already were allowed to make games based off the books, as shown by War of the Ring.

It's just some humor fan project. Nothing more, nothing less.
