  1. Right. So what it all comes down to is that one Commandment... 'do not hold any graven images before Me." But who's to say if they are actually breaking that commandment, I don't know, it just makes you wonder with all of their statues and pictures and pendants etc, etc.

Another thing is, Jesus never said anything in the Bible about praying to the saints :) or to his mother...

  2. @Mironir-

I get what you're saying, and I feel the same way about some things. But I've also come to the conclusion that the human race will never be able to quench their fires of curiosity and this is the way they were made. To be curious.

So even though some things are better left unexplored, (like stem cell research ;)[let's not go off topic about that though]) people will find it hard to leave these things alone, and sometimes they end up paying for their actions.''

But I do not think that this is one of those cases :P. I would just say, to anyone who would rather not explore this topic, "simply turn away, for you cannot stop them! :)"

  3. I wonder what you think of orthodoxe Christians (as for those people in Greece, Egypt (Coptes) and Russia)... If protestant Christians differ so much from catholic Christians, then protestant Christians must be even more different from orthodoxe Christian

I have a feeling that I don't know what you mean by "Orthodoxe". Some very good friends of mine are Orthodoxe, so I understand quite well what they believe and the differences between themselves and Catholics. But when I say they are Orthodoxe that is they are a bit less conservative version of Catholics, to put it bluntly.

So I think I'm not on the same page as you are. Because my Orthodoxe friends will tell you that they think some of the things the Catholic church does are wrong. But they do not go as FAR away from the Catholic's belief's as Protestants. So I'm very confused as to what you mean, lol.

And I would also like to clear something up....

Firstly, I hope that I have not offended anyone by bringing up the possibility of Catholics not being able to enter the kingdom of Heaven. I do apologize if I have offended anyone.

Also, I do not "Think" anything in particular of Catholics. For as I said earlier, I do not claim to know! Rather, I know of certain things that make me wonder, that is all, I have nothing against them.

And I realize that Christianity would not be spread throughout the world as greatly as it is today had it not been for the Catholics. But that was a long time ago, and many things in their churches have changed.

  4. People who really want to understand how things are in Christianity need to first understand that there is a broad line drawn between Catholics and Protestants.

Don't ask me if Catholics are Christians, I simply do not know and doubt if I will ever know. But they do some things SO differently from Protestants, like Klaas said, sometimes I have a very hard time believing that they are Christians.

  5. Wow, sorry about your computer, but it's ok, I've been able to settle down a bit and wait :).

But that is correct, I got a PM from... shoot I cannot get this person's name right, lol. Um, Enarwaen, I think.

Anyways, I think I'll be able to do something today but my schedule is a little unpredictable at the moment.

  6. The Battle for Middle Earth will be the closest you'll get to a LOTR Total War game for quite some time. TLA won't have the massive (massive) armies like the Total War games, or the BfME, at least I don't think it will...

But what it WILL have is an amazing amount of depth, and in my mind this is better than having huge, huge battles. It is a bit of a hard trade off- huge battles or unbelievable depth. But I expect we shall still get to see some large battles with TLA.

Anyways, I expect I'll get BfME to hold me for two years or so until TLA is done :) .

  7. I just rented it two days ago. The biggest problem (after you realize that they only own the movie rights [which explains a lot :)]) is that the game is relatively short.

A lot of people have a problem with an RPG being just 20-30 hours long. At first, we thought we could get 60 hours out of it. Then it came out and it seemed more like 40. THEN when the first people got done with the game 100% it was more like 30. And it isn't ALL that hard, so you move through it pretty quickly.

I've played about 9 hours, and I'm taking it slow, getting 100% in all areas. But you can't trust the "Percentage of game completed" meter in the options menu, lol, that thing will just jump way ahead at will sometimes.

Anyways, I rented it for a week, and by the end of the week I don't know how far I'll be, but I expect somewhere around 50%, but who knows.

The graphics are great, sound effects = great, and Howard Shore's score (which there is a LOT of, and much more than we've seen in previous LOTR games) is simply awesome.

You really can't say enough for how well they did the landscapes and everything, it is truly stunning. But I will have to say that it is a better idea to rent this game twice if you need to.

that's around 13 bucks, as opposed to 50 bucks. Big difference there. And it is well worth that $13, just don't buy it and expect to play it again, because the replay value is almost 0.

  8. Thank you, all of you. I've learned a bit of Quenyan but I would never say I knew enough to do anything with it. Biggest hurdle for me (and the one that stopped me) in trying to learn that language was I could never find a good system for learning it. Hopefully I will find a way someday though.

    I can't write in the Angerthas(sp) however. :S And that's fun.

Anyway, thank you very much av_nefardec for posting here. I hoped you would, and I will e-mail you soon to find out more about these positions of consultant and essayist.
