The great host of Valinor landed on the beaches Tulkas and Oromë
where there to. Fingolfin and his host joined up with with the army and milions of Elves, Maiars and other spirits marched to aid the elves in Doriath

Fingolfin and his host saw the new rising of Beleriand and they went far to the west back to Hithium and when Fingolfin went to the beach even further in the west he could se thousands of white sails comming from the west.
The Valar had finaly assebled an army and where ready to make a final war.
Before Fingolfin could turn around and get back to his people to tell the good news, Ulmo himself rose from the water and talked:
Hail Fingolfin son of Finwë, long have you and the elves battled against this foe togeter with dwarfes and men have you defeated army after army but it didn't matter.
I tell you about the thirt prophecy from Mandos, soon all races will be gone from this world, only the race of man will sleep for ages until the new world is born. But before that the sky will rain fire and every living thing will die. Only the elves can cross to Valinor. The new world will be only for man and they will live untill the ending of the world.
We have to make sure no elf stay's in middle earth and that we lead every host even the avari to Valinor where we can live untill the ending of the world. I give you this armory, it was blessed by Varda herself and it shines in the heat of battle like the 2 trees before the sun and the moon. This will be the last war, the war to clear the lands from evil.
Then Finfolfin returned to his people and told them what he heard from Ulmo, and they prepert the comming of the Valar

because of al reason mentions above, and he surived about 450 of the first age.He lead his people over Helcaraxë, he fought Morgoth himself and even cut his foot
And he tryed to remain peace and enjoy life in Middle-Earth while it lasted.And when charged at Morgoth, people tought it was Oromë himself
I think he's way the coolest Noldor around, it's ashame he had to die

Fingolfin saw again that the Eldar where defeated and rased his sword, and cryed out: Elbereth, Gilthoniel, nai galadlya lumenn or indonmma! [Elbereth, Gilthoniel, may your light shine on our heart] (roughly translated
a great light apeart from the west, it filled the hearts of the army's of Sauron and Morgoth with great fear.
The valar had not abandon us...
And hope came back to the elves who lost it, and the light burned burned the orcs and the wargs. They ran in fear and ran to the caves they could find.
Sauron and Morgoth had to retreat to Barad-dur and the elves where save for now.

After killing hundreds of orcs, Fingolfin saw the stoke of Sauron at Eruisto, and was trying to aid him, but the distance was to far.
Slowly he advances to Eruisto. And suddenly he heard a great noise, the earth was trembling and from behind the black gate came the dark lord Morgoth himself.
A great fear came over the elves, but there hearts hardend and they kept fighting.

Black Op, don't kill the main characters that fast
in character:
After miles of sailing back to Middle Earth, and riding to the battle the host of Fingolfin finally arrives and watches from a hill on to the battle.
While seeing the onslaught Fingolfin prepares his army for a charge, right in to a great host of orcs.
After a minute or so everyone is lined up and Fingolfin call's the attack.
White horses tremble down the hill and crash right into the host of orc, killing line after line.

All those scenes and:
-When Aragorn says: 'For Frodo' and starts the charge

Yes the Morgul road continued through to the other side of the mountains.
I've actually made a few scenarios in the game Age of Wonders about the War of the Ring, and I've attempted a few times, playing as Gondor, to actually sack Barad-dur from this route
Also, conceivably, one could enter Mordor from the east, seeing that there were no mountains on the east of Mordor
Of course you'd have to watch out for those easterling tribes and those variags of Khand 
That's the route I imagine the far easterlings would take to get into Mordor.
i always got right true the front door as the Galadrhim while Whopper went trough the backdoor as Gondor
we had modifid a existing Tolkien map to make it a bit more realistic
after a while we even got Mordor to become a green country again
