Still being created = no download available.
EDIT: Before you'll ask when it's released, probably in 2007, but I think some other guy can give you a better estimate.

Too bad he didn't get punished..

I was wondering, will there be post-release support/additions. So lets say, after the game's release you think it's finally time to add some normal maps to the game for the terrain and water (you know I'm a supporter of this ) then that would be possible? Or maybe new units/civs/maps? What can we expect with the usual balancing patches?
Oh yeah, I alsmost forgot. Will there be animated textures? AoE3 uses a xml file where they store the information of the textures like this:
<open>
<texture 1></texture 1>
<texture 2></texture 2>
<texture 3></texture 3>
<texture 4></texture 4>
<texture 5></texture 5>
<close>It looks really nice when this is done with normal maps on water.

Wow, nice, congrats guys!

Wow, that's big business, I knew websites for companies could cost a big amount of money, but €3000?! I though €100 was pretty much, but you say that's very low, wow was I wrong.
But I'll see if I try this in the future, at the moment I'll just try to get my skills up in PS and get to know a bit more about coding sites. Just having fun is worth a lot too, for me.
-
Just for the record, how much could you get for an average site? (like 5 pages, nothing too fancy like some PHP scripts etc.)
-
If you go on like this you shouldn't hesitate to find some small clients during vacations, that's really a nice piece of work
Who knows, but I don't really like to have a dead-line for designing. I want to take my time and only do it when I really want to, not because I have too. Also I'm a real perfectionist so I want to change it again and again, consuming lots of my time. But I might, because money always comes in handy.
Because it's so big it's also too distracting, it'll make your visitors focus more on the layout than the content. You're probably right, I made it a bit smaller although not too much. I might redo the header, don't know.
Maybe experiment with some other les contrasting colors and you definatly should remove the outer glow (or shadow?) which makes it look blury on the sides.Had already been changed.
The font size should be bigger. They are small because they are resized, normal size is 12.
There should be some branding (logo, site name, perhaps a tagline), but I guess you were planning to do that anywayYes I'm working on that, making a good logo is hard. The image I put up there now is just a placeholder.
If you develop this further it would even be a layout fit for the Zen Garden imho, which looks extremely good on a portfolio these daysHehe, I might try one out when I'm finished with this one.
btw where did you get those ornaments, or did you make them yourself?I've got a brush from which I copied parts, changed them and placed them somewhere. So all of them are made of just one single small brush.

Epidsode 2 is already in the making...

You scared the peep out of me, I thought it was delayed again.
I think I'll but the platinum edition of HL2, it will include HL2, Episode One, HL: Source, CS:S and some other stuff. Sounds pretty awesome.

A nice one for all you HL2 savvies: Nuclear-Dawn.
I really can't wait to play this one.
What is Nuclear Dawn?
Nuclear Dawn is a gritty multiplayer modification for Half Life 2 that combines in-depth real-time strategy, which includes base-building and resource management, with the fast-paced infantry combat of a First Person Shooter. Two military factions face off in the post-apocalyptic near future over a decaying landscape and the dwindling resources of a brighter age. Nuclear Dawn offers a unique experience, deep game play, and bleak end of the world atmosphere.
How much will Nuclear Dawn Cost?
It wont cost you a thing as long as you own a legal copy of Half Life 2 with Steam installed.
When will Nuclear Dawn be released?
Simple, when it’s done. We are on track for a fourth-quarter 2006 release of Nuclear Dawn, but we will not rush the product if we’re not completely satisfied with the initial outcome. Nuclear Dawn community members will have opportunities to see and even play the game long before it is made available in a public beta.

And how would I do that, Tut?
@CO: sounds a bit too risky to me.
EDIT: I got it to work! I created an ISO and managed to share it and then run it with Daemon Tools. Awesome!

So what I want isn't possible? Or don't you know how?
But I think the image making will be the best solution. That I haven't thought of that.. I think I'll try it out tomorrow, first I'll have to find out how to set up the network, though..

Lets defend the 0AD staff.
The so called sloppy marketing strategy isn't really marketing at all. WFG provides an option for RTS to give suggestions while the game is being developed. As you can see the suggestion thread is one of the biggest around here, although many suggestions are too diffecult to implent there are quite a few that will make it or are seriously considered to implent. That gives 0AD a perfect opportunity for the fans to get things in the game they always wanted to see. The guys around here knew that the game won't be finished soon. Eventhough we'd all like it to be that way. But still we stick around because we'd like to give suggestions and comments on the work that has already has been done so the game can be improved.
Normally a game will only be released when it's almost finished. But WFG is different, they really give the opportunity to their fans to get involved into the process of making a game. And I think it's wonderfull.

I was wondering, since we have a network (we use the same router for multiple computers, haven't set up a real network (yet), though) and I don't have a DVD-drive but my father does, would it be possible to put a DVD in the DVD-drive on my father's PC, but install something on my PC over the network? Or if that doesn't work maybe transfer the files and then install?
You probably think why doesn't he just buy a DVD-drive, they aren't that expensive. Well I'll get a laptop not too long from now because I'll leave home for my study. Buying it now would be almost the same as throwing money away, which non of us like to do.
So is it possible? And if so, how?
-
I've changed a few things, especially the top, so that's mainly what I wanted to show.
I resized it, so the text is smaller than it will eventually be.
-
Maybe you've got a virus or something, whatever it is, you managed to get something really screwed up.
-
Because of designing it's 1200 at the moment, I will resize the original one. Why I do this? Then some ugly not perfect things will disappear while resizing.
-
The polls are on the left only, atleast for the 0AD skin.
-
* The bar between the content and the top bit seems kinda out of place
* I don't really like the border around the main content, it's like it has 2 borders...
* The date should be smaller than the titles as it is less important
* I think you're right, I first planned that it would go down with you but I decided to not do that. Maybe if I turn it upside down it will look better, I don't know. Maybe making the white there blue too could help.
* I kind of like it this way, I'll look into other options nevertheless, though.
* Yeah probably right, but that's not so important at this stage.
Keep them coming!

So, you guessed it right? I'm working on another design for my site, again. This will be the best one by far. No AoE3 stuff this time, just a personal site for my personal stuff (read: things I make with PhotoShop etc.). There is still alot of work left, but I'd like your opinion about this "basic" setup and colour scheme (I really dig the colours ).
The top is old and will be changed into something more along the lines as the corners just below the menu. (the menu will be the bar running from one side to another.
So what do you think this time?

But then you'd say that everybody who buys Halo 2 would also buy Vista, which otherwise wouldn't have been that way. And that's wrong, the percentages aren't that high.
-
Bad move, many people won't buy it because they can't play it and Windows isn't cheap...
-
Haha, nice one. When did they start this nonsense anniversary?
-
I'm not entirely sure, but I think it's the file wp-config.php where you'll have to enter the name of the database, the password etc. You'll have to ask your host about those details. Then save the file, upload it and run install.php again. Then it should do everything automatically for you.
On this day, March 15, in 44 BC.....

Pretty funny, because this sunday, the serie Rome ended with the murder on Caesar. It can't be a coincidence.
