I suggested this same idea. Name could be: Prestige, Glory, Honor; pick one.

    Kill enemy unit: +10 Glory

    Research tech: +10 Glory

Find a relic and place it in a temple: +1 Glory/sec

Build a Temple: +100 Glory each

    Kill enemy hero: +500 Glory

Capture enemy Civic Center: +500 Glory

    Build a Wonder: +1000 Glory

    Spend Glory on:

    Heroes

    Champions

    Special Techs

    Non-Special techs like: Promotion Techs

    Leveling up your Hero

You mean like Stronghold 2 with every time your citizens are happy, it gives you a crown? And you lose crowns if your people aren't happy?

I think Tolkien stuff is still copyrighted. Conan Doyle books are just out of copyright these years (copyright looks a bit complex, but it should expire about 70 years after author death), and Sherlock Holmes can be freely used.

So I think you cannot legally use Tolkien specific places, names and so on. But I think you can freely replace some names with generic ones, e.g. rather than Uruk-hai just use Orc. Looks for example Wesnoth game, it uses Tolkien-like factions, but with different names.

This is just my interpretations, don't take it for sure :).

Then how come Third Age Total War could use them? Also look at the Divide and Conquer Submod. Why don't they get sued?

for me you don't even play enough RTS games.

    Demise

The Empire Earth series was ended with the release of Empire Earth III, which received mainly negative and average reviews and widespread condemnation from fans of the series. Any remnants of it were removed from Mad Doc Software's official website. On November 1, 2008, multiplayer support was dropped for Empire Earth, Empire Earth: The Art of Conquest and Empire Earth II,[4][5] Leaving only Empire Earth II: The Art of Supremacy, Empire Earth III,and Empires: Dawn of the Modern World with multiplayer servers.

Empires: Dawn of the Modern World multiplayer is no longer active, except to enthusiasts, partially due to the end of main support for software updates.[6] Online activity continues to decrease on Empire Earth II: The Art of Supremacy and Empire Earth III due to the lack of updates and support.

is a shame RTS Guru don't exist anymore, because , 0.A.D. were over Empire earth (II and III) in their top

we were over many games, even Empire Total War. and we were over to enterily Empire earth saga...

    and we even finish.

    and AoE 2 Conquerors was

    and AoK was

but AOM and AOE Warchiefs were the best in this top.

Off topic but why is AOE3 better than 2? Also why is AOK better than Conquerors Expansion?

  4. Looking through many games on Steam, they aren't as good as 0 AD is. It would be cool to have it on Steam because more people would probably pay attention to it and probably get this game more views and more donations. Also there should be achievements once this game is fully out of beta and into release. Probably there would be a lot more people to help too if you put this on Steam as Early Access.

From what I've read in the vision 0 ad sounds a bit like an RTS version of a total war game, not really an AoE clone. Less focus on economy (yet still you need to manage several resources which is a good thing) and more focus on armies and unit compositions. That's why I think 0 ad should use a battalion system instead of individual units. Right now the individual unit management is very tedious and keeps you away from fighting. Also, because all gatherers work as combat units its very hard to apply pressure on the enemy as I've stated numerous times already.

I'd really advise to have a look at this.

I think 0 AD is more of a clone of BFME 2 with historically accurate features instead of Middle Earth. If it is supposed to be a clone of BFME 2, then yes we should have battalion systems, except the bannerman would fight. It is historically accurate that bannermen were the best men in their regiments. If It is more of AOE, then no. I don't think it is Total War like because in Total War the just have gold. Nothing except food, and population (at least Rome 1, and Medieval 2. I haven't played the new ones)

Hi there, i have been playing this game for a while now, since alpha 16 or 17, and since the new update I feel like some civilizations are too weak, so i have a few small and simple suggestions of some changes which would balance things out a bit.

    First, Persians.

Persians have many advantages such as a +25% trade income boost for the team, furthermore they have a really nice champion, the Persian immortal. However it has a HUGE disadvantage, which just makes this civ not viable for competitive players as you can only build ONE apanda, which is where you can spawn the immortals. This is really bad because you can not do "single man batch training" like you can do with every other civ. If you change that value so you can build as many as the Spartan Military mess hall, then you will see a decent amount of people using them.

    Ptolemies

Ptolemies have some really unique attributes, for example they are the only civ which has free houses, furthermore they are the only ones which have a lighthouse. However their attacking forces are terrible. Their archers, which are basically the same as the mauryan archers cost more because they cost metal, they have slingers which are decent, however many civs have these, and they are just normal infantry, and to make it even worse, they only have ONE champion. This would be OK if the champion was unique and decent, however the champion is just a normal melee cavalry champion. I suggest that you buff this champion a bit, maybe if you gave it some crush damage, or you increased its armour, or if you could add an upgrade which increases the health and the attack. Then it might be viable, however at the moment no one is using Ptolemies.

Other civs need a bit of balancing, such as Seleucids and Cartathenians, however their changes would be a bit more complicated.

Aren't the Ptolemies still in an alpha state and they are still being worked on a lot?
