0 A.D voices in Roman mod.
His pronunciation of just about everything in the game makes me wince. lol
But, still a good player and good cast.

"Null A.D."
That's a new one for me.

Latest version of the game includes differentiation for cataphracts and chariots, but I agree it does not go far enough. We need trample component and secondary attacks.

Still the graphic style is interesting, wouldn't it be better to give it an illustration style than a photographic style?
Maybe, but I wanted to make realistic first, then turn them into an illustration.

How interesting your use of AI.
Have you tried doing voices?
There are some synthetic voices in DE already. Carthaginians, Han, and (something else, I forget, lol). They are not perfect. The Carthage voices sound synthetic and not natural, for example. There is a thread on this forum about it.

On one hand, yes. But, @Thorfinn the Shallow Minded does have a point. One of the biggest red flags when I'm researching any history is seen if they try to apply or compare things to the modern day. If they do, usually I try to steer around them because almost always they have some point. An Agenda, if you will, that they are trying to play into. And when you try to compare things like that, a bias forms which can really taint what is being written.
The article I posted makes the same point though. Using an idealized view of Sparta for political or philosophical reasons.

Honestly, it feels strange that he is comparing it to modern standards
It's because it's talking about the modern idealization of Sparta

I think the point of the articles is that mythology omits large portions of Spartan culture and history and is probably not something we should emulate in modern times.

A good write up addressing the modern obsession with Sparta.

Y'all act like this hasn't been solved in like 100 other games, the most applicable being AOE2, which has non-random fire and does not "break" the game.

An alternative choice of something like "random arrows with control" would be better.
I would like this, actually. Random arrows by default, overridden by the player to target a desired enemy unit until it is dead or out of range, then it's back to random until it's retargeted by the player.

The "random arrows with no control" just feels like a gimped or bugged feature rather than something desirable.
