  1. Searched the forum but could not find one :) Always nice to have a screenie thread for people to browse through and add to.

These have been downsized from 6400 x 4800 and jpeg'd so lost have a fair bit of quality, still looks nice though :)

Here you can see the detail in a small section of the above shot, that is itself only the top 1/4 of the pic.

    Loving OAD chaps :)

  2. Persians :) I ran the map in skirnish and then sent my guys down to attack, once i attacked the ai and then moved away they followed me all the way back to my base so pathing seems ok.

When i start the game and go and check what the ai are doing thay are just all standing in the positions i placed them in the editor. The ladies do not go and farm or chop wood or anything, the soldiers just stand there..until i make the first move.

  3. Thanks heasp Feneur for looking at it :) i thought i allocated the Player and Ai but obviously not. Re the unit movement , there is only meant to be two ways of travel on the map , both intersect at the river which i raised last night so the opposing units wreren't trapped and slinging insults at each other from opposite banks :D

    cheers again.

  4. post-16004-0-90563000-1411047151_thumb.p

This pops up as soon as i hit play in the editor and also in game when i select my map in skirmish. Is there a file i need to find to hunt down the error ? I followed the Atlas manual while i was setting up and as far as i can tell everything i have done is the same, re the settings , obviously not though lol :)

I also had a look for my map here binaries\data\mods\public\maps\scenarios but could not find it listed as i wanted to upload the xml so someone could check it out, why would it not be there ?

Love the map editor by the way, very nice to use, reminds a bit of the il2 editor :)

  5. Tried the Bactria map again, this time with very hard petria ai, and was not attacked once. In the stats the AI never collected any stone and only collected 8 metal. AI trained only 23 infantry and they were at base when i attacked.

Death Canyon (tiny) was the same, very hard Petria ai, the ai actually attacked once this time and then never again. Once again in the stats the ai collected zero stone and zero metal.

  6. Hi all, have been playing this little gem on and off since Alpha 12, generally check in every few months give the latest version a week or so of skirmish and scenarios..haven't managed to have any luck with multiplayer yet.

All of the time i am able to build up enough resources, survive a few initial attacks, build defences that they cannot get past and then go on the slaughter trail.

Bactria map (skirmish) is extremely easy with either no or only two to three small attacks from the enemy ai (this is medium and hard petra ai) and then they just stop attacking despite there being a lot of resources left on the map , the ai just seems to hang at their base doing nothing while you can mass a huge force and build a city with no fear of attack if you so desire.

Totally different to playing Arcadia 2 in scenario mode where they just keep coming in decent sized waves, still easy enough to overcome again once walls and towers are up. I know ai is never where the real competition is , just found it odd that there is such a large difference depending on map ? or is it dependant on skirmish v scenario ? or is it what civilisation the ai is ?

cheers, and thanks to all who put their time and effort into OAD for us freeloaders :)

  7. You can queue waypoints via Shift-Clicking. :) I don't recall being able to set them to loiter (though, usually, loitering units is wasted resources/time and in the battle examples, most skirmishes would necessitate in-battle micro which would negate the loiter order).

Will try that out tonight, cheers. I know what you mean about the loitering v wasted time but i could see a few areas where i would use it :)

    thanks again.

  8. Hi all, have mucked around with this game since version 12 i think, just wondering if i am missing a few things or not.

Can you set multiple way points for units and if so can you set loiter times at certain way points ?

Reasoning is i would like to be able to set a cavalry chap at the beginning to explore areas of the map without me constantly coming back to him and moving him in small sections at a time.

Loiter times within way points -

One example, some of your troops have come under attack and can fight briefly then need to retreat or die ( i like to save my troops if i can ) Send some fresh troops to loiter for say 5 minutes at or near the attack point or along the attacked troops line of retreat then have them pull back once the original troops have been reinforced or are back at full health.

    Does that make sense ?

Regarding way points again, the ability to set up small squads of five or so troops to simply patrol an area designated by your way points instead of being limited to guarding one spot.
