  1. With the largest debt of any civilised counrty, a severaly overstretched military, econimic instability, domestic unrest, and an ever growing list of enemys, can the US hope to exist for much longer in the modern world? if the US dose manage to ramain intact, can it hope to remain the only super-power?

My Opinion: as long as we continue in our almost imperialistic ways (we do all the policing and conquering associated w/ imperialsim, but reap none of the benefits that other empires have had-money, glory, manpower, etc), and along the same conomic road (going deeper and deeper into debt, and spending billions on ever more fruitless trivialites- fighting terorrism for instance) we will either have to withdrawl from the position in the world we enjoy ( and go back to isolationsim) or fall apart altogether.

the first option is self explanitory, the other needs some clarifiaction. in say, 50 years a new industrial powerhouse emerges and threatens our place in the world. japan, the EU, china, or some someone sompletely out of the ? now, declares war on us for whatever reason. now, i seriously doubt that we could fight, and win, a war aginst a 1st rate power today; so in fifty years ( if we continue on the road we're on) theres no way of victory. we will lose, or sign a humiliating peace; with our already fragile economy, and an ever greater number of anti-federalist radicals, it would only be a matter of time before the us would experiance a violent upheavl of some kind. this is assuming that a victorious enemy wouldnt invade the country, in which case things would be much much worse.

So, the way I see it, if the US continues on its current path, it is doomed to suffer an inglorious end.
