  1. The game is (as you know) still in alpha so its a bit hard to get all the documentation organized. But were always one step closer to an "ultimate" manual if you will, with the help of the community
  2. Here is what I think: this would make getting the game a heck lot easier and me a whole lot happier! Also, if it makes your job easier, drop PPC support. Seeing the market trends, it is still used but very few people, but not a significant amount.
  3. I was playing and 17 minutes in the game, the phone rang. One of my friends wanted to borrow my printer... and I yanked the wrong cord, and my computer died. If only we had auto save But don't worry, I'll have it up soon.
  4. It would be interesting to put the late Romans against Marius's mules My money is on the mules, they were too disciplined.
  5. Love those Chinese fortifications. Only if I could test how strong they were against my Carthaginian elephants
  6. So Marilyn chooses to not raid me. So I send out a little party to see how the bot reacts. I knew there was an army waiting, but they weren't attacking. It seems this bot is more defense oriented. Anyways, my 5 cavalry were *chased* to my civ center and Marilyn ended up doing some damage.
  7. So I messed around with it for a while. I didn't get raided (YES!, but a slight disappointment). There were a couple warnings. It seems each time it was training cavalry. Error in Attack_city.js, line 181; regarding Melee Cavalry. I'll test it some more, and next time, I'll reveal the map and observe it.
  8. You beat me to it... But anyways, welcome wisp! It's a great game and its gonna get better.
  9. Use this opportunity to fight the bots. Hehe... land invasion!
  10. Here is another one: Iulus. The ancestor of Julius Caesar, and son of Aeneas. Also known as Ascanius.
  11. So I've gotten the hang of the game now that is been 4-5 months. And I think that strategy I've been using is somewhat good that I would share it with you guys. Build your houses away from the enemy or borders. Some maps, like the oasis, build near the edge so its secluded from your main village. The enemy usually don't venture far enough, so you don't risk loosing your houses.Start with some walls! Stone and archers are key. I usually train 20 archers at a time (when I get the resources) and then make them build a fort near the border and occupy it. Any invading party coming through gets shot down You don't need a standing army to win. Well not in the beginning. So manage resources carefully; sustainability first.Make the citizen soldiers mine for stone/metal (they're better at that) and the females do the farming/chopping. Cavalry are good at hunting.Once you have dried out mines, cleared forests, make a moderate invasion force (use super units from the forts)And then invade! Also, with the new bartering system: focus on mainly 2/3 resources, barter for the the least focused ones (go for whats near your civ center)Remember, once you take down a civ, build a civ center in their previous area and gain territory to build more forts. This strategy works best as long as you are able to withstand small early rushes by opponents. So once again, keep about 10 archers nearby and garrison them in the civ center during early attack. And that thing about getting shot down And feel free to check out the rest of the gallery!
  12. Yeah sorry to say I couldn't jumble it into one app. But I added the icon file... And can this please be moved out of the applications forum?
  13. The latest version works great! good job. I'm just going to try to put into one .app file and if it works, I'll upload that for downloading.
  14. Oohh... sorry I misunderstood you. Thanks for the clarification.
  15. That goes against the whole idea here. Too contradictory. But seriously, this works: note: I don't think you should feel bad. Its just not appropriate for this game.
  16. Well its not that hard, but if you wait a few days, I'm sure someone will post a compiled version on here. Good to see more Mac users coming!
  17. +1 for Imperium. Its sounds cool and has a nice historical aspect.
  18. The design document and the artist design document are good places to start. Good luck? And consider applying for an artist or modeler position.
  19. I know that we have 4 civilizations already and we're working on two more (Persia+Rome) but dare we venture to the Indian subcontinet? Or the cities of China? The history time period fits too, as 500 BCE- 500CE was a good time. (Wikipedia Indian article) (Wikipedia Chinese article) There were some neat empires, and we could simulate the campaigns of Alexander or the Persians. Perhaps even expand to the Huns. This would be a nice area to research, and it would add another element for players to explore. I know this will be far in the future (probably Alpha 15 or so) but its never too early. So what do you think?
  20. Hadhayosh... relates to Persia. A hadhayosh is a monster from Persian mythology.
  21. Much better than WINE conversions! Thanks so much.
