What characterizes a next-generation game? Are next-gen games the products of their respective platforms? Are next-gen games defined by bigger environments, better graphics, and faster animations? Or are next-gen games defined by the experiences they provide to consumers?
On Thursday, 29 March 2007, International Game Developers Association, San Diego produced a panel discussion of What Makes A Next-Gen Game? that enabled a dialogue between video-game journalists and developers. One of the largest events in the history of the chapter, the event received more than 200 attendees, representing developers and publishers in San Diego, Orange County, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and even New York.
An official video recording of the event is now available here.

Feel free to digg this.

As you can see, I'm retired from the team. Please direct all future enquiries concerning quality assurance to Jason Bishop (Wijitmaker).

Be warned that any further comments about anything not related to the topic will be deleted.

That's because what you saw is a remote. The Wii Nunchuk controller is weird though. What they designed doesn't look comfortable at all.I dont like how the Wii's controler looks like a remote control for a television set, will be very strange playing with something like that in my opinion.

The following questions are covered in the candidacy FAQs. I've left this topic open in case there are any more.
- What is the process for applying to join the Quality Assurance team?
- What criteria is used to select candidates for the Quality Assurance team?
- How many people are expected to join the Quality Assurance team?
- What are the requirements of a Quality Analyst?
- What are the requirements of a Focus Tester?
- What materials will be provided?
- What training opportunities will be provided?
- How are contributions measured?
I'm also waiting for the new job application system to launch before I post the candidacy FAQs document.

Nah, they don't make impact or create meaning. They just say what they're told to say. Much like historians...Sounds like an idea Fox News and Air America can get behind.
"I give people the truth, unfiltered by rational argument. I call it the 'No Fact Zone'. Fox News, I hold a copyright on that term." (Stephen Colbert)

To me, what we know of history consists of what others have said history to be. The accuracy of what we know of history pales in comparison to the impact we experience and the meaning we derive from the stories we tell of that history.
Cringe, Paul, cringe!
Looks to be an awesome film. Gerard Butler did a great job in Attilla too.

*whew* That was a lot of image links. I replaced the images in Abadu's posts with links to the images.
Guys, please try not to post more than a few images in a post, at least until we add an automatic image resizer to the forum. Thanks.

He also mentions Wildfire and 0 A.D. ++

The other type of response would be "it'll be ready when it's ready". CheeZy's is a tad better than that.
But I'm not.
When the title goes gold, you'll know.

The Romans were fearsome because they were organized. Just like the Italian mob.
The Celts were fearsome because they were crazy wild people that partied like rockstars. I can attest to that!
The Vikings were fearsome because they were calm and giggled while they beheaded their foes... or friends.

What!? You don't think the horses are disciplined to gallop in a well-trained synchronous manner?

They're a thirsty bunch.

Not yet, Joseph. When I start recruiting testers, you'll see the news on the front page.

You'll know we're close to pre-alpha when I start recruiting testers.

Yes!
Several major publishers have solicited inquiries; however, we have maintained that transitioning 0 A.D. to a commercial model would be a disservice to our past contributors as well as a betrayal of the community's trust in our word. We are dedicated to fulfilling our promise to release 0 A.D. as freeware.
We're not going to name names though. We prefer to keep our options open for the future!

You could always download and install PHP Designer 2006, Klaas.

True, but keep in mind the status of 0 A.D. We're not even near the polish phase yet.yes i think it will, but the graphics are'nt exactly crisp and smooth...

The interesting aspect of the video is that there is link to the video on the homepage of Eleanor Holmes Norton.
Reading the comments on the video, I don't think some people quite understand that Stephen Colbert is a comedian, and these interviews are comedy skits a la the comedy skits conducted by Ali G.

The code generated by Dreamweaver is extremely clean and easy to maintain. WYSIWYG editors are also incredibly useful for prototyping layouts.WYSIYG tools rarely get you very nice code... web development is one of those things that's best done by hand. It's much cleaner and easier to maintain.
The attitude that disdains the use of tools can be likened to the attitude that disdains the use of calculators. Humans invented tools to reduce complexity and to get things done. There's no sense in disregarding tools. You just have to know when to use them.
