  1. I'm wondering, am I the only one who has noticed, that there are soooooo many " second accounts " right now in game? I've played several games this week with people who tells that they are playing literaly first or second day, but they play like 1600. Like, what's wrong with you guys? Are you that addicted to trolling points or what?

  2. Here's an independently developed chat extractor that by default displays only those chat messages that the logging player should be able to see. To use it, install python3, and copy 0adextract_chat.py to the logs directory within the 0ad user data directory. Start a Terminal or command prompt, change directory to the 0ad logs directory, and start the program with information about your lobby user name (and rating) by passing a command line argument. Here's a demonstration of how to start the program once you have changed directory to the 0ad logs directory. Replace "Helicity (1377)" with your lobby username and rating. If you have no rating then exclude the parentheses. python3 0adextract_chat.py --player-name "Helicity (1377)" After the match is finished, you can read all player chat with Helicity's mainlog_extractor.py script or by passing --show-all-chat to 0adextract_chat.py. Please don't use this to cheat. There are many good purposes for this software, including reporting player misconduct, making links copyable to clipboard without using autociv, remembering cool or funny moments from past games, and saving songs generated by ChatGPT and pasted by Larsvandijk. 0adextract_chat.py

  4. From general feedback, It seems the proportion of damage/armor is better, but that armies die too fast. Reducing ranged damage to be comparable to melee would mean fights would be extremely long, which is likely worse than too fast. I think i will do the following: reduce swordcav pierce armor from 2.5 to 2 (no more half armor @wowgetoffyourcellphone) reduce spearcav hack armor from 7 to 6 (they beat spearmen too easily) reduce all unit damage by 25 percent. increase "base" melee infantry speed from 9.0 to 9.5 m/s First, I'll do my own unit tests and things so make sure there are no obviously OP units. If all looks good, I will make it a version 2.

  8. Hello. I am a mod maker for Age of Empires 2 Definitive Edition. I've been making mods with the Advanced Genie Editor for a while now, but I've been heavily struggling with adding unit models into the game, as there is no archive for custom units, at least none that I know of for DE. I was wondering if I would be allowed to borrow graphics from Rome at War. I'm aware that Rome at War is the result of a whole team of modders, so if I need to ask someone else I'd be grateful for anyone to tell me who to contact and how to do so. If you wish to see my main mod for yourself, you can find it in the in-game mod manager, it's called Hfs rebalancement (although I will be overhauling it once Return of Rome releases) I thank you in advance for your answer.

  10. You could also just increase health of all units. Still need to worry about units destroying siege/buildings, though. Personally, I would decrease attack, but it's something to consider

  14. It's a lot of changes to be tested at the same time, a lot of side effects to take into account, I think we should do it in parts. In my opinion, we should start with the movement speed of the melee inf units, and then see if the result is positive or not, then we move on to damage, armor, health, etc..

  16. Anything that changes will have side effects, but reducing range damage will have less effect than increasing melee attack. I propose trying some of each: reduce range attack and increase melee attack each by 20%, reduce melee armor by one level. I also think javelins attack should be reduced more than others, and compensate them by giving them more armor.

  17. It's the obvious solution without a dozen side effects. I still feel @Feldfeld suggestion of halving ranged damage as a start the most reasonable approach.   20. I don't think that the issue is UDP being blocked by the ISP. It's more complex than that. It's already known that STUN doesn't work in all cases. It depends on the network configuration of each peer. There's software that can be used to test STUN. The Linux package is named something like stun-client. A Windows version is available here. Here's the manpage for it. Alternatively, if your web browser supports WebRTC, there's a website-based STUN test available here. Here's the output that I get when I run tests 0, 1 and 2. I don't have CGNAT. Notice that the return value of test 0 is 0x000010, and the return value of tests 1 and 2 is 0x000000.
