  1. Introducing God's Eye. I've been working on this mod for about just 48hrs now. Not so lone but due to the pace I'm moving, I am almost done with beta version .0.01 and I'm looking for testers who will use the mod, discover bugs and add it to the known issues so that i can get it patched and release the entire mod to everyone as soon as possible. Don't hesitate to inbox me if you are willing to help build up this mod or have any interesting feature you would like to request. My arms are opened!, Request a feature or suggest and it will be added as soon as I can. 2. @borg- @real_tabasco_sauce @maroder @chrstgtr @ValihrAnt @Feldfeld @Stockfish @wowgetoffyourcellphone Now that the last release blocker is fixed I'm gonna soon make a second release candidate. That will also be the beginning of string freeze meaning no new auras or techs, or units can be added so that translators can finish. So I'd like to have list of remaining patches you want to merge for A26, and I'd like everyone to comment on them if possible.

  3. Obviously because the devs messed up. And obviously not because no-one proposed patches for them as "the devs" are usually not the ones with balancing knowledge. Sorry, but I feel mentioned every time someone says "the devs".

  4. Last thing open for the Han is the roster restructure: https://code.wildfiregames.com/D4713 would be nice if some more people would look at/ accept it. I also read the maybe the minister should only cost 1 pop instead of two (not sure how many people feel that way). And then there is @borg-'s Persia overhaul: https://code.wildfiregames.com/D4724 which should also be accepted/ checked by much more people before including it right before string freeze.

  6. Maybe Agis could unlock a merc tec, or be able to train mercs as long as he lives. Unfortunately I haven't been able to find out what kind of mercs he brought to the battle at Megalopolis. I think for Chandragupta something with war eles would be fine.

  7. Hello everyone, I think it's time I reveal a "secret project" I've been working on occasionally: a “Grand Strategy” campaign mod for A25. Because our UI is flexible, and because campaign data is just JSON, we can do quite a lot in terms of modding. My intention here is to do something somewhat similar to Rise of Nations' Conquer the World campaign, though with some twists. The code is over at the github repo: https://github.com/wraitii/0ad_grand_strat . If you want to help out, the easiest is to make PRs or issues over there. The end-game is to merge something back for A26 or later, depending on advancement. As you can see, the mod is currently unfinished: it's technically playable, and some of the core mechanics are there, but it needs a ton of polish and quite a few features (& well, testing) before it's properly done. Though at the moment new core code in 0 A.D. itself isn't necessary, some things might be easier to do there. Screenshots: You can download a .pyromod from GitHub. Changelog:

  8. Another topic of the day. Massive income of smurfers who make the game unpleasant for those who are new to the game or people who are playing 0ad for long and trying to balance out the game correctly. Rating has nothing with accurate rating's for such reason we have lack of 1vs1's. Smurf's are bad for any game. In 0ad smurf went advanced mode and simply creating massive amout of accounts. @elexis when used too be around was strict when it comes to changing nicknames but he was doing great job on holding off a lot of smurfs. Can anything be done with that? There is only @user1 in the lobby who afk more than me at work. lol (no offence to user1, he is a good person) @Stan`

  9. The Moche culture was an ancient andean civilization, which flourished in northern coast of Peru between 100 AD to 750 AD. It could be interesting to add this civ to the mod, though the timeframe is closer to the second part of the game, than that of "Empires ascendant"... 10. Culture of Moche. The Moche civilization (alternatively, the Mochica culture or the Early, Pre- or Proto-Chimú) flourished in northern Peru with its capital near present-day Moche, Trujillo, Peru[1] from about 100 to 800 during the Regional Development Epoch. While this issue is the subject of some debate, many scholars contend that the Moche were not politically organized as a monolithic empire or state. Rather, they were likely a group of autonomous polities that shared a common elite culture, as seen in the rich iconographyand monumental architecture that survive today.

  11. Agis III at the battle of Megalopolis: https://babel.hathitrust.org/cgi/pt?id=mdp.39015008158407&view=1up&seq=21 "Strabo (XV, 724) gives the treaty between Seleucus and Chandragupta, in which Seleucus ceded certain provinces and gave the Indian a daughter or niece, receiving in return 500 elephants." https://www.jstor.org/stable/626263 that's the motivation for the bonus

  12. Agis 3: infantry +15% movement speed 45 m radius and +1 pierce armor 45 m radius (He died from a javelin +sad) but also maybe it means he was fighting against ranged units which might justify the aura. It seems he commanded some mercenaries but sparta has no mercenaries to work with such a bonus. Chandragupta I liked the unit training function of chandragupta, but I am not sure if eles fit the bill. It would be a bit more awkward to see a whole ele pop out. I do think it would be epic to have a batch of like 5 eles training and then they pop out as soon as hero reaches the fight XD.

  15. No thanks, heroes have to much health as is. Be more creative.

  16. I would recommend making these useless heroes super strong units by themselves: Chandragupta becomes a super elephant with 2400 health Agis becomes a super infantry with 2000 health.

  17. Really very good idea, he could be trained at 100 food in Sissitia. Sissitia may have an xp aura (garrison) for that unit, when it reaches the required xp then upgrade to champion.

  20. This would be the ray cast I mentioned, or maybe not a ray since it's a segment now, more accurately line segment to polyhedron intersection I suppose. It's in the realm of possibility that we can make buildings block projectiles, but units are out of the question as they won't have the same position each turn and would need repeated ray casts unlike a static building which can be done just once, with the caveat that buildings placed and constructed after the projectile was launched would not block. Somewhat interesting, and I believe I have had this discussion on IRC sometime back in 2018. Indeed they don't. AoE4 have even more simplified ranged attacks by making them always hit. Essentially delayed damage, instead of delayed hit testing we have.

  21. You can also use the following: Mesh ‣ Clean up ‣ Delete Loose Select ‣ Select All by Trait ‣ Loose Geometry https://trac.wildfiregames.com/wiki/ExportingErrors It says you can't use quads and that you'd have to triangulate your mesh, isn't that outdated?

  25. My two cents and some suggestions for improvement: Sounds like fun I like this a lot too. Very unique and helpful. I'm not a fan of getting rid of things that work and this seems like a change just for change's sake. I don't see anything wrong with the current bonus, which is very useful but not OP. The gold proposal also sounds very difficult to make useful without being OP. If the trickle is high enough to eliminate a need to gather metal for p2 techs then the bonus will probably be OP. If the bonus isn't strong enough to do that then it will provide almost no benefit. If you want to include some gold proposal then providing some gold discount for techs seems much easier to balance and more useful. Not a fan of deviating from standard stats for common units. It makes the game more difficult to learn and harder to balance. If so desired, I would introduce differences in the form of techs like "grain gather +20%; attack -10%" This seems really difficult to balance. Making them free seems it could make them very easy to spam and OP (i.e., build three extra houses at very start and train 30 Spartiates so that at min 6 you have an unbeatable army--enemies also can't do anything to stop this type of spam bc it just requires time, which no rush can stop). If the training is super slow then I don't think anyone will bother to train them because they will take up too much pop space without providing any benefit. My suggestion is that we create an alternate way to make spartiates. All history texts tell us that Spartan citizens used to train all the time to becomes spartiates. Why don't we create a male citizen that does nothing but can train himself into a spartiate. This way the male citizen just takes up space and resources (I would set cost to 50 food) while being vulnerable to attack. This would provide a new, unique, and cheap way to get champs. But this also avoids the "too easy to mass" problem because they will be super vulnerable while "training" out in the open and the loss would costly.

  28. I like your mod...love the music too... ...I have been playing like for 5 months now, and decide to make a scenario too.. At first, It was design for 8 players, but issues with the population, and the game freezing, forced me to make it for 5 players instead, with the other factions becoming buffer states...As you, I am also working on a scenario base on the map of Europe and the Mediterranean Sea. I have named O AD Empires at War... Hopefully it will be published soon.. here is how is looking so far.

  29. I'm redoing them all, the first ones were very mediocre and without good historical sources. I am a little slower in the updates because I need to buy a new notebook so that I can do them in my spare time at work. As soon as good things are done I will update here with prints! : D

  30. Since the end of 2018 I started a project to add the Mochicas / Andean people from the coast, but at the time I lack a lot of experience with 3D. But now I have a little bit, I believe that it is enough to try something worthy of that civilization. Some references I collected with interesting time and readings. https://craterre.hypotheses.org/files/2018/05/TERRA-2016_Th-1_Art-111_Chirinos.pdf https://congresoarqueologia.cultura.gob.pe/sites/default/files/acta/archivos/actas_del_i_cna_-_vol_1_-_vw.pdf
