  5. What about this one? I moved the roof texture per column, each one 5 spaces up and alternate to create irregularities. The same concept was done to the shadows.

  7. Aachen Cathedral, the topmost structure, shouldn't be used. Only the central octagon is Carolingian, but you can't see it here, because it's obscured by the later (14th C-20th C) additions. Also, the straw (?) roofs of the frontal and central structures look quite dark; perhaps they could be made lighter? The text on diet is interesting, the drawing of those buildings is even more interesting, but what I personally find most interesting, is the size of those animals in Carolingian times compared to now; it's something everyone should be reminded of from time to time; thanks for sharing!

  11. But how big will be the attribute buffer if they all are moving not in the same direction? To produce natural clouds it requires a lot of particles. There is a good way with volumetric clouds, but it's pretty new to support not new videocards. The simplest way is use a flat height texture (i.e. an analytic modification of the Perlin noise) with a parallax like shader. But it looks simple too.

  13. Dunno about the most recent alterations to the texture, the current color pallet feels weird / unnatural / gloomy / dark (just a few words that come to my mind) (btw, I wasn't a big fan of the initial state either)

  14. I've tested the xiongnu (from TerraMagna github), congrats to those who make it, that's quite nice. Here are a few problems i noticed: Two errors on loading (files missing in the git repo?) ERROR: CCacheLoader failed to find archived or source file for: "art/textures/skins/structural/leather.dds" ERROR: CCacheLoader failed to find archived or source file for: "art/textures/skins/structural/celt_siege_ram.png" And see screenshot of the xion cc: may-be due to the missing texture? xion_female_support: SelectionGroupName = units/spart_support_female_citizen xion packing ability could be reserved to xion civ, i.e. captured structures should loose it. You could add a new tech (for example nomadism, autoresearched for free at startup only by xion) which would be required for packing. civil_centre: why do you call the template xion_civil_centre_unpacked.xml instead of xion_civil_centre.xml. That prevent the ai to expand and to build its own phase tree (these are ai limitations which hopefully will be removed in the future, but won't in a23). In addition, it would be better to add the proper superseding on your xion phases so that only the next one is displayed (phase_city_xion supersedes phase_town_xion not phase_town, see how it is done in vanilla for athen). Finally, the requirements of the phase_city_xion are wrong (i suppose only the last one is kept): you should have an array of two objects. Then there was a problem in petra, where the xion cc did not train units. This is now fixed in rP21748.

  15. Memory modification tools are fun, but indeed this won't transfer to multiplayer games as fcxSanya mentioned. Even if someone modifies the simulation hash he sends to the server, the other players still didn't see the player cheating.

  17. Ah, you meant cheats. The user was a server, so he controls his state, but any player, that will try connect to him during his memory changes, will get an OOS error. Also Cheat Engine is real overhead in this case, since a user can modify JS files, particularly simulation things. So the game isn't actually hacked.

  18. first of all, watch the video and see when i banned him i was full upgraded max population and 10 catas. JC had less population, less resourches and 0 champions alive ( 4 elefents on buildings). JC know he cant win me, all JC plan was to annoy me and make the game take hours till i ll have to leave since i was short on time. here is the story, me and JC use to play many 1v1 games and always argues. i always tell him i will not play with him if he keep run in huge maps instead of fighting in 1v1 games. normal size for 1v1 is huge but i agree to play in Ngorongoro the map he love in normal size the map size he like if he promise to fight and not to lure me and run all over map. he usualy dont stand his word. i honestly dont know why i keep play with this annoying guy but it has no concern to here. if u think i deserve a punishment for banning this annoying guy from my game then do that. here's a video what happens when JC play against me in size of 1v1 games when he cant run all map and annoy me with 3 hours game : spoiler: i just smash him easy like he was totaly begginer. 2018-04-12_0011.rar

  26. Yeah a p2p model would make it irrelevant who the host is after the game starts. Spring uses p2p and anyone can leave the game without consequence. Most spring games also handle redistributing a player's stuff if they crash or disconnect, and can even give it back if they rejoin the game (using server-side login credentials to verify the user's identity). Server-client model is not so smart for an rts.

  27. this is some example of what i mean before, the black zones need a strong black to allow be seen from afar whitout become a single colour or loosing a lot of detail since players won't be able to get too much closer to the buildings whitout touching camera configuration (I'm still figuring out what i'm doing). Even if the history says that we still need it, officialy Maduro is no longer president since two days ago IIRC (Even when he never was legally president so he is now double illegal dictator) recently the traitors after a lot of pressure of the citizens they did what they had to do a long long time ago, so our "Millitary Forces" are forced now by the law to remove from the charge Maduro but they wouldn't we can only hope on another international forces and we need a mass cleaning of our millitary forces since most of them are criminals and they will remain doing harm to people with or whitout president so yes, belive it thats our only hope no matter what.

The yellowish touch of the middle texture is good but the problem in the roof is the same i had before with some metal and wood textures when baking the shield, if the base colour is dark it may need another colour even more darker for dirtyness but also for little details, can you share the texture pack so i can have an idea how its the roof or from what is made so i can try one on procedural later?

  30. This are for now the caro structures we have, my priority is finish those that still are anglo buildings for properly caro buildings. Church replaced now its market and a new desing for Fortress, walls there are plenty of walls desings in this forum somewhere that i can use later but market and fortress have higher priority since temple is done (has about same lenght and height of the roman temple maybe a little more)

  37. Hi, So I read that you need a video editor. I can do some decent editing, as long as I don't actually have to make the raw content! I have a copy of sony's Vegas Pro 13 editing software a freind gave me, and i learned how to use (some of , it has quite a lot...)it's functions. If you want me to do anything reply to this thread ;-) Just a side note, is this forum made with squarespace? It looks nearly identical to the linustechtips forum... put .com on the end of that and have a look if you doubt me. Thanks in advance, James

When i was young, i was playing to Age of empire 1 and 2 (and later the 3th) with my brother and my uncle. That was very fun, we could play for hours ! What i like when i play to stronghold 2 is the very original system with satifactions of the peoples, the number max of units, the fact that we can build you own castle with differents tower/wall sizes etc.. I think that another question can be good : Which software(s) do you know or know how to use ? I use photoshop (for create textures from filters principally, i start from nothing and i try to make something with a certain level of realism) : i've a correct level, i'm not an expert but i manage. I use Substance painter for create a realist texture the almost of the time, i've a correct level again. I use Blender for create my models and Unwrap UVs. I have a good level. Sometime i use Sculptris to make organic models (but i have some progress to make) I also use gimp (but i prefer photoshop) i use (sometime) Xnormal for Baking Normals and height map(to make a pencil from a height maps for exemple) And for finish i use CrazyBump to transform my photoshop work to a very powerfull texture (with normal, displacements(if needded), Occlusion, specular, and diffuse maps), Work Examples: I've lost the most of my work when my external hard drive was broken. But since i re-complete ma collections (i will attach some screenshots of my recently works).   40. I find that I have less time to create new scenarios for each release. This release I am focusing on helping get the Persians out the door and then after them comes the venerable Romans. Like I say in the description above, we're looking for someone who can match the style and quality of the existing custom maps. If you want to study a few, then these maps would be good examples: Acropolis IIBelgian BogCycladic ArchipelagoDeath CanyonGallic FieldsSiwa OasisOasis IISerengeti Not only will your work add to the growing list of playable custom maps for thousands of players, but they will serve as examples to random map scripters as they design their random map scripts to mimic our high quality maps. The above 4 map examples are actually not in the Design Document, but they represent common design elements for RTS maps. You will have wide latitude here. The following actually are in the Design Document: See the Design Document here ----> Clicky <---- for a comprehensive list of what we'd like to see. Many of these maps will not end up being in the first release in random map form, so it would be nice to have a wide variety of custom maps available to players based upon this list.
