Come see Paul's home :)

Recommended Posts

Yep, here is a satellite image showing my home:

If you are wondering we live on 160 acres of land, roughly 1/2 mile by 1/2 mile. I got this by using www.maps.google.com Unfortunately at the moment it is only North America, but I've found my dad's workplace (with his vehicle parked in a corner ;)) and my grandma's house in Florida. Its a lot of fun ;)

EDIT: I just realized the caption says "That's out house" :P This is a typo, it should be "our" obviously ;)

Now if this wasn't the biggest coincedence ever. I was just going to post a topic about maps.google.com yesterday.

So far, I've seen my house, a marina that I used to sail out of on Lake Michigan, MIT, the Virgin Islands, where my family sailed this summer, Chicago, and my school.

My cross country team is going to use the satellite images to put maps of our courses on our website.

LOL I knew those captions would get me in trouble :P

Its actually Gonvicks, the ranchers across the road from us. And yes it is pretty nasty resolution ;)

Man I need World Wind ;) Prob is its only dial-up ;) Thanks for the pic Phillip!

@ Nate - Yep, my dad is a pilot and rebuilt a Stinson 108-2 Voyager about 3 years ago. Actually the very reason we bought this land was so he'd have a place to fly it off of.

Awesome ;) If I ever get a pilot's license and a plane, I'll have to pay you a visit! ;)

@ykrosh, if you live in the US, you can switch it to the usgs satalite and get detailed enought to get individual houses, cars (even people although they are just blotches). its almost 1m per pixel quality.

I managed to find Mythos_rulers house. and he showed me around his town.

@if you see me on msn Ill see if we can get a better picture of your place.. that goes for anyone in the US.

as for me, I live here:

here (perpindicular)

here(angled)

here(labeled)

Ill get a clearer labeled up one soon but for now the higher red label is my home and the lower red label is my school.

And this is where Ill be moving:

here(perpindicular)

here(angled)

You are right, I am with NTL, it sucks :)

EDIT: Oh gees, I have just found out that NTL are introducing download limits :'(

EDIT: Ugh, this is rediculous, I'm looking for a new ISP but they all have download limits! Araghhh!

No sattelite pics, but plane pics:

Here's where my mother is born (Eeklo):

The church of Eeklo is quite huge, very impressive for such a small town. The building in front of the church is the town hall, so you can imagine how big it must be.

This is where I live, Maldegem. You see the town's square and town hall. To the left is the Catholic school, the white building to the right is a castle which is now the police office, and the trees to the right is the town's park. In the top right corner where you see the parking lot is the town's swimming pool.

Someone made a joke I suppose :) (zon = sun)

Well the road around here are erm, quite complicated :)

And last but not least my house:

http://www.kvw.be/images/house.jpg

To the left is the house where my grandparents used to live (sold it a few years ago) and to the right is my house. Everything that's between the roads (so the rectangular shape) is our farm, except the house on the left.
