Same fault at start with Ryzen 3700X (fresh custom kernel, Debian sid, latest package 0ad)

Also it required xbitmaps package that was not in dependencies, and failed with latest nvtt package (bug #916909 at Debian), rollback needed.

I provided a workaround which apparently lead s to an OOM for you here: https://trac.wildfiregames.com/ticket/4360#comment:20

Did you test your workaround on your own, non Ryzen machine? Did the OOM occure on your machine too?

I currently get an OOM with my patch too. I would guess it's the same bug. If you get the OOM with your patch and machine too, I would guess the bug is inside the "commented out part". Otherwise this part of code ist not nessesary to run the game and the bug is on another place of the code.

I'm on windows, so given the number of leaks elexis is uncovering all over the game, it is quick for my game to go over 3.9GB of RAM and crash. That being said, could you provide a replay that crashes on your machine with my old patch so we could test that theory ?

The code is for hardware detection, worst case it should detect badly your hardware, and lower the graphics options. If it crashes later, that should be unrelated. Now assuming we are bit paranoid (or thorough) and we assume that code is for assumptions further down the road (that would eventually crash) I guess the replay could help :) Thanks for keeping up with this @OptimusShepard !

Hi, I am with AMD Ryzen Zen 2 (3700X) and just encountered the same issue (and the workaround did the job for me as well).

If I can help you with any additional information, I'd gladly do that.

Sure do you get out of memory errors after that ?

You can also test if the last fix (better one) works for you https://code.wildfiregames.com/D2353

Hi guys,
I'm saving the same problem, game is not starting, getting:
Assertion failed: "cache.Validate()"
Location: cache.cpp:43 (x86_x64::AddCache)

The game went fine before the upgrade, from AMD Ryzen 3 3200G to AMd Ryzen 5 3600+Nvidia 1060.
I'm using Windows 10 x64

Any tips how to solve this issue?
Thanks,

Try this one. Can you click properties on each file and make sure its not locked ?

Hi guys, Thanks for the help provided,

I have two pc and on my ryzen computer (3600X) the game doesn't launch.. (on other computer -Xeon haswell- the game works well)

I installed the game (on windows) and followed your instructions, added all the files to 0AD "system" directory and now it says" imossible to execute the code, because libvorbis.dll is missing...." (translation, I'm french^^ )

Have you an idea of what I can do to resolve this issue ?

Thanks

Cela étant dit tu devrais pouvoir jouer normalement :)
