I don't see any problem in having the Spanish colleagues around. Here not money rules, but vision, interest and collaboration. :)

Or are the Spanish and the Catalans in a similar relation like Bavarians and Prussians or Austrians? :D

Thank you for the article, well written, a good practice and a welcome alternation to English and other northern languages (don't worry, I also like those, essentially I hear those most of the time, it's just about the alternation, no offense or anything to any language speakers).

For those who don't know and despair, Catalan is more close to latin than Castillan (and thus, more readable by a French-reading and Italian-reading people). It is still spoken in all the western Iberian Mediterranean arc and the isles (from Alacant to extreme southern France and Baleares): more than 10 million people speak Catalan.

It is cousin to another Romane language that was the vernacular in France's southern third and a dozen vales in the Italian Alps. Causes are the strong and early Roman influence in the area, a much lesser penetration and integration of Germanic upper classes from the north (and not before 13th century), some political unity from 9th to 13th century, and a temporary rule by the Catalan kingdom. More than 15 million people live there, but by now, it's more like a cultural identity than a real living language; whereas circa 12 million people were still speaking it before WW1, less than 3 millions currently are.

Es bueno tener gente que hablé español, me aburro de hablar inglés por eso lo digo. :)

Me referia a la existencia del movimiento independentista catalan, los cuales muchos no se consideran españoles... cosas de la vida de por aquí..

In fact, I'm from Mallorca, on of the Balearic Islands. But I'm living in Barcelona now.

It's the official language of Andorra :)http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andorra

That's it. Is the only oficial language in Andorra. It's also a cooficials in Catalonia, Valencia and Balearic Islands. Catalans is also spoken in a little part of Aragón, some regions in the south of Franc and the city of l'Alguer, in Sardinia (Italy).

I'd say that the relation is more like Scottish and English or Quebeckers and Canadians.

Así es :D

Ya sean catalanes, vascos, maños, venezolanos o mejicanos son todos bienvenidos aquí ;)

Gracias por la bienvenida :D
