It's the age old problem of blacklisting or whitelisting - you are always going to get some bots that get through and some real folks like us who are going to get blocked.

Don't get me wrong, I think that this problem can be satisfactorily solved, but I just mean that it won't be easy.

Can we make a system like that: New user's first ticket must be verified, if it's ok, the moderator give the user full access. If it's a spam ticket, the moderator simply delete the user.

I don't know if it's possible to that.

There's a Trac spam filter installed now, but I don't think it's working optimally.

One problem with having to manually approve access is that people typically come to wikis to contribute in their own free time as a service to the community, and the more obstacles there are, the less motivated they will be. For example, the SDL wiki required (maybe still does) contacting the admin and explaining why you want an account there. All I wanted to do was complete some documentation while I was thinking about it, but it took days to be approved.

The Spammer(bot) use off topic words and phrases like "workout to slim" or pills to slim. And put links in the messages.
