Name:

Vincent Erhard.

Email:

verhard88@gmail.com

MSN Messenger:

n/a Skype:eggthatrolls

Location:

Philadelphia, PA (possible relocation in near future)

Availability: Immediate

How many hours per week on average do you think you'll have for Wildfire Games? What about 6 months from now? As many I can spare 10-30+ hours, I have no other obligations or projects that require full attention. Six months I could possibly fit in at least 10 Hours

Age: 24, just out of college

(Optional) How old are you? Not because it matters, but rather we ask this to anticipate your availability and other factors based on where you are in life.

Occupation:Unemployed

[(Optional) What keeps you busy in your day to day life? Student, work? etc.: Running, Games, Modding, drawing, animating, learning new things in Flash, After Effects, and Maya.

Skills and Experience:

What qualifies you for this position? What experience have you had in the past? I am a recent graduate from the University of the Arts. My focus in animation has led me to be rather proficient in programs such as: Flash, After Effects, Maya, Photoshop, Premiere Pro, etc. While my curriculum was very 2d focused, my interest in 3d has grown more than I originally anticipated. I have come to find modeling, uv unwrapping/texturing to be more of a hobby rather than work. Experiences in projects range from internships on film/video and client projects and some collaborative projects between friends.

Motivation:

I am motivated my many things. So many in fact, I will probably come back and add more to this list. I've always been an avid gamer, but in addition to enjoying games I have always wanted to help create one, to leave a mark and point and say to someone: "I helped bring this to life,". There are other motivators and its somewhat of a confliction. My primary interests for seeking an education in animation was to make films and cartoons, the other was an ambition to get some foot into the creation of games.

Personality:

The animation is done, does this mean I can do that 'sleep' thing?

Short Essay:

How and when did you find out about Wildfire Games? What motivates you to be a part of the project? What do you seek to gain in being a part of Wildfire Games? I first found out about Wildfire Games when I was doing some google searching about Age of Empires 2 (and how to mod units and sprites), and I came upon a forum post that led me to here. I was very excited (and impressed) after I saw the level of detail each civilization had, and I ended up going into a 2 hour daydream about all the potential units and animations for each of them. Another reason I am very interested in joining is after just glossing over the project and watching some videos (and hearing how moddable the game is) I felt a certain level of excitement I have not felt since the first time I dove into Dawn of War. I hope to join the team and help in anyway because I often find myself with all this knowledge but nowhere to pour it all, I'm just excited and hope there is a direction (or multiple) that I can be pointed in to help. I hope to gain a type of work ethic that I can carry with myself throughout my career, and possibly learn any other technical skills for my hobbies.

Interests and Hobbies:

One of my earliest hobbies, has been painting figures. When I was younger I was introduced to table top gaming, and I have been more of a fan of building and painting the units than I have actually playing them. Although I still have a nifty 1000 Point Tzeentch army, I bring out every once in a while. I am always drawing, an old professor always told me to: "Never stop drawing", before then ever since I was a wee lad, I have been drawing, mostly getting inspiration from the art in booklets from the NES Mega Man games. Aside from all that, I spend most of my days gaming with friends.

Staff:

(Optional) Do you know, or know of anyone on the team? No, but you guys seem like a great bunch!

Community:

(Optional) What communities, websites, or forums do you frequent that relate to your interests and the gaming world? Ign, reddit, destructoid. Im not particularly dedicated to 'A' website, I just use google and tend to find myself going to and from many websites.

Favorite Game:

What's your favorite game at the moment? What about your overall favorite? At the moment its a tie between: Age of Empires 2HD, Megaman Legends2, and Fatal Frame 2. My all time favorite is a tie between Warhammer40k: Space Marine (With Dawn of War as a close second) and MegamanX4. An obvious note, is that Warhammer and Megaman are the prime reasons, and inspirations as to why I took up art.

Work Examples:

My animation examples can be seen on my vimeo: https://vimeo.com/user7032181 And my online portfolio/blog can be found here:http://egghammer-art.blogspot.com/

Hi and welcome! :) Animators are really needed.

I directly have a question, I work quite much with Inkscape and svg's, but I haven't found an useful way to convert an animated .svg to an animated .swf. Maybe you know a way to do that?

Thanks in advance.

Hello Vincent! Welcome to the forums and thanks for your application.

As kosmo already pointed out, one of our biggest needs right now is animators.

So if you're interested in animating, we can give you some recent animal models for you to rig and start animating and you can show us your skills.

If you prefer modelling/texturing you can choose a wide variety, from nature/organic assets and animals to hard-surface buildings.

Where you want to start is up to you. You can use this thread to ask any questions and doubts you want and to show your progress (screenshots, vids) of your first task. Just let us know what are you interested in working on and we'll guide you through. ;)

Looking forward to work with you!
