Random Map Script:Rhine Marshlands

Slightly different from what Michael proposed, this map is filled with shallow, passable marshes. But the western sea has a problem as it will have the same characteristics (eg. color, reflection, etc.) as marshes and wont be a good thing and I didn't implement it. So this is not going to reach alpha 9 which is going to be released in 16 hours. I still find it fun to play.

Nice, but you seem to ignore Mythos Rulers advise to leave space around the start positions in order to place base buildings ^^

This one isn't as bad as most, since it has relatively few trees. There seems to be places nearby for buildings. But yeah, a comprehensive solution for all maps should be sought.

alpha 9 which is going to be released in 16 hours.

It's not going to be released in 16 hours, however the feature freeze (i.e. no new features added, and generally only bug fixes and non-risky additions should be made) is tomorrow as you say, so it's probably still a good choice to put it up here rather than adding it to the SVN for now. :)

Great work as far as I can tell though :) You and wraiti are really pushing the quality of the RMSs to come nearer and nearer to handmade quality (y)

Is it possible to script resources so that forage bushes and trees are the only ones that spawn near each other and near start points? I would like to see a map with forage positions far away from bases.

Well, but be careful with food sources that could be mistaken as wood resources.

At least I don't like them.

I had downloaded Alpha 9 this week-end and I would applaud all the random map makers for their work. Some, like this map I enjoyed, could be hand-made maps.
