While the code is open source and redistributable, I am not sure they could (or at least should) (ab)use the same name (0 A.D.) and logo.
Like CentOS / Red Hat, same code but different name and logo.

I would recommend to disinstall the snap version and install the Ubuntu packaged version (22.04 has latest alpha 25).
Snap version is known to have some issues.
-
It is possible, there are other games using code (for example Hyrule Conquest game) and assets (for example Stunt Rally) of 0 A.D, see below some references.
You have to respect the license anyway, which is usually GPL 2.0+ for game code and CC-BY-SA 3.0 for game arts.

BTW, if you want to be notified of all Debian 0ad bugs, you can go there https://tracker.debian.org/pkg/0ad, register and login. Then clicking on Subscribe you can get all notifications related to 0ad (new bugs, uploads and so on).
Then make sure to repeat for https://tracker.debian.org/pkg/0ad-data.
On the two links I provided you can also see all current bugs currently opened.

I've never heard of it before. Don't think that code checks for hyperthreading support :/ so likely no. Can you test ?
I don't have that issue, the reporter can eventually be contacted writing to his mail address, or adding a comment in the bug at 1008531@bugs.debian.org

I noticed this issue: https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=1008531 realtive to 0.0.25b.
Is it a known issue? Is it already fixed in SVN?

Did you follow the build instructions here:
https://trac.wildfiregames.com/wiki/BuildInstructions#DebianUbuntu
-
Can you please post the
~/.config/0ad/system_info.txt
and
~/.config/0ad/userreport_hwdetect.txt
log files?

You may also download the 0ad packages (the deb files for your arch) from testing and install them with
dpkg -i *deb
in stable.
Usually it works when testing is not much newer than stable and it should not break things. If not just remove them and reinstall with apt.

Actually I uploaded it in that PPA as a temporary solution until the official PPA get properly fixed, but I can keeps updating it until needed and as soon as I still have time to do it.

Thanks do you think you could update your PPA ?
When Debian will update its package I could easily sync it, otherwise I could do the work myself, however I need more time, I am also in vacation next week.
EDIT 2021-08-16: alpha 25 is now packaged in my PPA https://launchpad.net/~oibaf/+archive/ubuntu/graphics-drivers/

Great release!
Threading and campaign support are amazing new features!

That message is harmless and it should not happen if you also install newer mesa driver from my PPA, in which it is fixed, according to: https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/drm/amd/-/issues/1332
It may be that snaps packages have problems on your system.

Hirsute has an old 0 A.D. version, 0.0.23.
In my signature you can find a proper Ubuntu PPA with 0.0.24. To be seen if the issue still reproduces.

Your hardware should be OK, however, as properly suggested by @Angen, you should try updating / reinstalling the graphics driver, as it looks like it isn't (properly) installed, defaulting to generic software emulation driver:
OS : Win10 (10.0.19043) CPU : x64, Intel Core i5-7200U @ 2.50GHz (1x2x2), 2.71 GHz Memory : 12288 MiB; 8669 MiB free Graphics Card : Microsoft Corporation GDI Generic OpenGL Drivers : 1.1.0; OpenGL 1.1.0

See also the PPA in my signature.
BTW this was already asked a ton of times, you may found many similar threads...

Hi, official PPA doesn't support Ubuntu focal, but you can use this PPA, which supports it:
https://launchpad.net/~oibaf/+archive/ubuntu/graphics-drivers/
Ciao

In my PPA I won't support anything older than 20.04, but you may update your Ubuntu from 16.04 to 18.04, then to 20.04 and finally install 0 A.D. from my PPA.
-
Yes, the version currently in ppa:wfg/0ad.dev is an old experimental and, as you noticed, buggy snapshot, incompatible with the official releases.

A24b is now available in Debian experimental and I ported it to Ubuntu in my PPA:
