  1. Yep your right sorry man , i think it was a discussion between sightvatr ad oshron but ye anyway , thats my point , wasnt really answering to anyone in particular i just read it passing by and wanted to remark on it , sorry , next time il use qoute , cheers man
  2. Was reading a couple of pages back, someone argued that some armies never met each other . I think that it doesnt take away anything from the game to have armies that never met in the mix , its cool to let people experiment with historical battles that never occured in real . If historical war games would be limited to only armies that met each other they wouldnt be as iinteresting as ones letting you decide who to make war on , Of course we dont want the persian empire waging war against hitler ! but you know what i mean . As long as the civilazations are aprox from the same period in the history timeline of the world its cool.I think Historical games must be very loyal to history when it comes to recreating armies artwork , builduings . and history background and periods they lived in but leave the freedom to gamers who to make war with or against who....
  3. I dont think they will be whitewashed , the diversity is never a negative point even if they have some familair traits they will be different factions and more choice ( intelligently balanced of course and yes im conscious that more armies you have its get even harder to balance the game , but than again which RTS game is 100% balanced out there ? ) I know its hard to separate lusitanians from iberains but ift we are talking about them as two different factions thousands of years after they lived than they must have had something so different than each other to separate them in roman eyes and the books of history that followed . I guess it has to be part historical research and part assumption and creativity to create lusitanians out of iberians or any other sub faction out of their main geographic races. The feeling of playing with lusitanians alone is more powerful tham the desire that they have to bee 100% or 90% diverse from iberians for example. Probablly it took geographic locations and some different ideas and believes to separate a tribe from and other ( still happens today ) and make them diverse to the point to be remember thousands of years after they walked on this planet. So Even if a sub faction has ONLY 40% or even only 30% of diversity from its mother faction it should be accepted , the fact that they would be there represanted in a videogame that simulates the era they lived in and the fact that you will have a number of gamers that will use that particular army with that particular name just because it means something to them makes it worth while. And lets say it , would be cool to have a game with lusitanians and spartans and other such factions that other video games didnt explore in the past for those difficulties. I find it hard to believe that any other historical RTS game has made such detailed historical research and had more passion than the team and all helpers on 0.AD so the only hope to see such things happen is on a game like this.
  4. Im ecxited about this game, havent beem checlking in here for a while but i have been waiting for 0AD a long time , seems there s still to wait for the finisheg game but its worth waiting for ,happy to hear about the indian and other eastern civs , will add up to to spice ., anybody knows anyhing if lusitanians will ever be a stand alone faction ??
  5. This game is gonna be something special . keep it up guys ! would be wonderful to have lusitanians too !
  6. what about this project ? im following the progress of the main 0 AD project carried on by devs but i registered in the forums to be able to talk with you guys who have the great idea of modding the game into different periods. I would really love to see 0 AD modded into colonial age but i would like it also in the medivial ages. I posted here to make u know there are people out there who like your ideas but not always can register or care to make their toughts known.
  7. i would really love it if it was still alive . i love history and the reneassiance and colonial age is my fav , and btw war is never simple. Im loving the 0 AD project about ancient civs and i think that this is the best mod that could follow ( if its not really possible having a mideviel era in between ) Colonial/exploring period the most if not the most fascinating period in human history and it will remain so until humanity will begin exploring other planets, and there is long time waiting for that still , and even when/if that happenes than the colonial and exploration age of colombus , cortes , vasco de gama , cook etc .. will still be up there in second place in the list of periiods that changed deeply the way we look at the world around us.
  8. I just registered and im a history fan and like video games. Is this thing still active ? I see your talking about medivial times and wanting to include not very known factions/states well what about something overlooked by most games of this era ? Im maltese so i would be more than happy to help you with research on the knights of Malta, Hospitallers . who had a state of their own and an army and a navy ( wich later denied the ottomans from conquering malta and even took part in the lepanto battle ) The knights of malta were/are the oldest knighthood , knowing their birth in the early medievel , going true all the reinassance and being able to stay alive to this very day.
