  1. World Map (v 1, 2, 3 etc) are AoM maps that are huge. And yes they are maps of the entire world. They are very detailed and it takes a long time to get across the whole map. They used to be hosted frequently online but are rarely hosted now because those that hosted it left aom.
  2. Since I play as the Egyptians in AoM so much I will try out the Persians. They seem interesting. Elephants FTW!
  3. Alexthegod5 you dont have to post that on every topic...
  4. Lol no duh... And Mythos_Ruler so true lol.
  5. Oh yea...I actually forgot. I'll upload to SVN as soon as I find it.
  6. Ok thanks. I can run AoEII so I am sure it will all work.
  7. I seemed to have missed this forum when I first joined! But I found it, so here I am! My current hobbies are playing piano and singing, theater arts, of course PC gaming, especially Age of Mythology and yes I even play AoE1 from time to time. And when it comes out, 0ad will take over all of that. I make mods for AoM, but I lack texturing expertise for I really am not great at making textures. But I am pretty good at modeling, and can animate basic things fairly well also. I recently have gotten a little more into designing maps for age of mythology, but each time I look at the poor decals in AoM I lose interest. 0ad took care of that too. I am amazed at how fantastic the quality of 0ad is, and the fact that it is freeware and is being created by individuals not a huge company makes it all the more "revolutionary" i guess you can say. I plan to follow 0ad all the way, keep it up!
  8. Is there a list of PC requirements for this game yet? (i.e. graphics card, memory, etc) because I am upgrading my pc for Spore's release and I want to get something that will support 0ad as well. Thanks.
  9. All I know is that because AoEIII had homecities and experience levels I stopped playing it. Microsoft did not bring back the classic aoe feel that everyone liked.
  10. Well I am not sure what I am but I know I am Irish so i put that. Where would Hungarian/Portuguesse fit?
  11. ^^Thats a good explanation. I never quite understood why all units in aom cost 2 population or more except for villagers. That was annoying. But I think pop cap is a must. If you could set a higher pop cap in game (ie so online play would work say you could have 100, 200, 300, 400, 500 pop as an option you set at the start of the game) then that would be cool. Also, this was mentioned in the topic earlier and it is off topic but I dont want to make a whole new post for it. I only have a 2.08 GHz processor. Will 0ad work? Also, is there a requirements topic or something that tells you what you need? Thanks.
  12. Hungarians today call themselves Magyars just so you all know and they call Hungary Magyaroszag (missing accents and stuff)
  13. I think that a pop limit is absolutely necessary. I would hate to be in game where the player could just spam as many units as they wanted, countering would become useless.
  14. AoM can have really big maps if you have the upgraded editor. Havent you played the good World Maps before?
  15. Thanks for the info. I need to learn gimp because I dont have the money for photoshop. I hate blender. The interface is so complicated it wasnted worth it. I tried it a year ago. Thanks for the suggestion though!
  16. I know that once this comes out I will be modding it like crazy, and to be honest I want to get a head start on learning how to. I am very used to 3ds/gmax, so I would enjoy learning over this summer the modelling program that 0ad supports. Basically, what modelling program do most of the people working on this use? Thanks. By the way I love the screenshots that are coming out. They look great. Oh and before I forget, will the models use animated skeletons that attach to the models? Thanks for the response!
  17. The way to go is having an option that allows you to lock the teams or have them changeable, so players can have things suited to the way they play. Another option could be that you start the game as neutral, and once you set a player as ally or enemy, you cannot change your mind again(to prevent stabbing in the back). But this also poses this problem: 1. player 1 and 2 decide they want to ally eachother 2. player 1 allys player 2 and cannot go back on the change 3. player 2 know has the advantage over 1 for 1 cannot attack and sets 1 as an enemy. So players should only be true allies if both select eachother as allies, but if one player sets one as an enemy first, other players dont have to set that player to be an enemy in order for the player to be able to attack them. I am going on and on arent I? Anyway, I am sure that as long as the ai is similar to aok it will be good enough for me.
  18. If it isnt I will jump off a cliff. Happy News Years (even though it is a bit past new years lol)
  19. ^^Who knows why microsoft didnt do that before-it really would make things better.
  20. I love the war elephant. I will definately play as it when this comes out.
  21. Wish more songs in aom were like this-great job.
  22. Will there be servers that allow for multiplayer online connection during this game?
  23. I really want this to come out, even just a demo or something. And a "Mythology A.D." project would definately be something I would want to work on.
  24. So a select few will eventually get something. That does not make me any happier knowing that I am not going to be one of the select few. But this game is looking great, and I can't wait. Another question though. (I dont want to post a new topic) I know the answer will probably be no, but for curiousity, will there be any way of choosing "gods" (like in age of mythology) when you advance through the ages? If this is not included in the game will modders be able to mod this feature into the game?
