  1. Ok, I've visited both links and it seems beyond my capabilities to follow the instructions. I rather wait to a new release . Any Idea about the new version release date?.
  2. Fine, the next question is how to generate them and play in the game.
  3. Any news about the crash issue?. As I get deeper into the forums I feel like I'm missing many objects, ideas and structures all ready done.
  4. Is there something all ready drawn or modeled for the African mini faction?. Is it a north African or is it a sub-sharian mini faction?
  5. Maybe, I can't say exactly how, but those small towns could delimite a bigger area around the town center may called province and you could fund more nearby provinces for your empire establishing town centers, or fund distant colonies where to gather resources. By the way, ¿is it possible to have bigger maps than Giant size?
  6. To be honest, that upper structure is not necessary to support that kind of bridge and I draw it for eyecandy reasons. The bridges i've drawn are just free concepts intended to be a starting point in introducing the idea that bridges are necessary somehow as a common structure for every civ. You could build them, defend them or destroy them if neccesary.
  7. Yes, and if the upper structure is too complicated for the game you can take it out.
  8. Quote: "In the pictures of the fortresses the buildings are placed on high ground mainly, not high slope". Well, some times yes, as it's used to create a flat surface on an imposible terrain (see picture attached). I just pointed that some of the most beautiful castles and cities of the ancient and medieval world were made that way and that it would be nice to have that in the game as well. But In any case I don't understand much about the difficulties of coding 0AD so I rely on your criteria an expertise.
  9. The Gameplay point of view depends on how the player enjoys the game, if you just want to win at all cost, in a competitive/stressfull game then it's Ok, but I've no fun in building a city but to sustain an army population in a sort of crazy competitiveness, I rather create the army to defend a beautiful city/civ. with wise movements and strategic thinking. AOE III made the same mistake and I think world war one was almost about the same.
  10. This game like AOE is based on civilizations competing for resources in a limited play area. Civilization comes from latin Civitas, which translates into "City" in english, "ciudad"" in spanish, cité" in french, "città" in italian. "cidade" in portugues, etc.. and means group o people who have suceded to settle in cities (bigger or smaller) instead of wandering around to find food and water, and from that perspective city building plays a essential role as all is about it. From my point of view, the focus of the game is on the cities. A bunch of cities with it's own culture is a civilization. The city provides protection, food, knowledge, etc.. That's why you protect your city and need walls and large armies. If your cities fall your civ. may perish. Therefore, to build your city larger, nicer and with lot's of different buildings gives and Idea of the rise of your civ. Most old civ. tied to their capital city, (Rome, Athens,Carthage, etc... City building is a
  11. Yes, that's what I meant. Existing buildings an their upgrades coexisting and available at the same time.
  12. I meant to leave both available all the game or maybe make insulas only available at a certain level, but never disable small villages. You all ways need them fill to the gaps between Insulas, to found new small villages or just to make to whole game more eyecandy. Just think about actual skyscrapers lonely in the middle of nowhere, almost like "Las Vegas". A civ is a matrix of main cities and small cities around and big buildings are all ways surrounded by small ones.
  13. There are a few more. have also a look in google search - images: castillos Alicante (spain) and: castillos Murcia (spain)
  14. That would be also a good point, to end walls with imposible terrain in a nice join.
  15. Well, the think is that usually fortress and military walls are builded mostly on difficult terrain. Here a few samples of medieval castles on my area.
  16. During a game. The issue is that some slopes allow me to place the walls and towers and others nearby no. I find that very estrange.
  17. I love those designs. Why can't we have as much different buildings a civilization did produced at the same time in the game? and not hiding them in phases. I mean that different buildings should be enabled in different phases and be builded near existing ones as the civilization advances through centuries as we can see in our actual civ. we still have castles, palaces and other buildings from past centuries. That enriches a civ. and visually makes the game much better in eyecandy terms. To hide a building with an upgrade of itself makes the game more static and les dinamic as you feel as your civ. advances through the centuries that you still have the same buildings but just upgrades. 1 temple, 1 town center, 1 barrack, etc... or copies of them all along the map. It's like copiying yourself as time advances and your civilization grows. It's a bit strange, less realistic and visually boring. I think, it's just an oppinion
  18. Yes please add them to the new release, they are beautiful. Not just as an upgrade but as new houses, the more variations we have in the game the more realistic.
  19. Nice to have big buildings in the Roman principates but I would suggest not to hide the small buildings button as we still need them for small colonies ad are very decorative still in a big city.
  20. Ok, now I understand, the problem with the foundations are also very visible in the walls as they often meet slopes and and mountains.M In the picture below mind the foundations of the tower right to the left of the red coloured wall. Besides I took the picture because I did'd understand why couldn't I close the wall at that point of the slope and yes on the nearby areas as there is no visible building or resource on it.
