  1. Really good work ! I am still researching about some armies and nations and some of those images are incredibly useful. Anyway - just curious - how many units per faction is the limit ? BTW Anyone here knows at least a little Iroquis language or at least terms they used to decribe warriors, scouts etc. I will not bother you with details unless someone can help me. Anyone has any images/more data about Mapuche ( south part of South America -i.e. Chile, Argentina) armies after 1555 - they adopted european tactics (pikemen, cavalry, musketeers) and actually were subdued only after 1850 if I am correct or even later. Finally are there any online source about Hawaii warfare I really am curious about them now.
  2. The mod ends in 1492, Husaria appeared in 1575-77 after earlier armoured Hussars ( improved Racowie) were reformed by Stephen Bathory. @Belisarivs I have a small request. I am preparing the additional campaign for the last edition of PMTW for MTW VI and I am adding Bohemian rebels of 1618-22 uprising. I need couple of simple translations - plural and singular Pikeman/men Moravian Cavalry Reiter/-s -the full roster will be looking like this: Musketyri Pikemen (bodyguard unit) Zemska Hotovost (infantry) Zemska Hotovost (cavalry) Reiters Moravian Cavalry + various mercenaries, common and German units Regards Cegorach
  3. In earlier times there were probably some woodland scouts armed with bows, but later no specific units were used. Of course it doesn't mean that suprise wasn't use as a decisive factor for example at Swiecino in 1462 Polish cavalry attacked Teutonic horsemen and later disengaged them at signal, moved on side clearing the space between suprised Tutonic mercenaries and Hussiate infantry which shot them to pieces at very close range. at Orsza in 1514 a unit of infantry was kept hidden on the right flank. They waited with handguns and cannons ready until they were given the order to fire. The sudden salvo smashed Russian cavalry there and allowed Lithuanian-Polish forces to smash them easily and win the entire battle - one of the worst defeats in Russian history. OK early cavalry Knights Legnica 1241 Plowce 1321 Tannenberg 1410 - you have also foot crossbowman and the lithuanian cavalryman from the right is perfect for the Mazowiecka Konnica. Koronowo 1410 Rac along the Tatar auxiliary rider and here those in red infantry very early - the guy with spear is good for Tarczownik but needs a shield. infantry - late Tell me if you need more.
  4. In that case the roster is quite simple , but I have to divide it into 3 periods which can be treated as early, medium and really advanced units. Anyway here it is: The earliest times where the army was still with many old Slavic traits - quite weak cavalry and good light infantry. Cavalry Jazda Pancerna ( Mail-clad Horsemen) - Duke's/King's early knights - not so powerful as real knights, but more disciplined, Infantry Lucznicy ( Archers) - bowmen were considered very dangerous part of early Polish armies, were armed with dangerous longbows, but it required some time to train such in later periods, Tarczownicy - ( 'Shielded') - spearmen with spears, light infantry, but with powerful pounch and some decent defence, Medium period - army was westernised with all the usual stuff like Knights etc, Cavalry Rycerze ( Knights) - nothing unique, Mazowiecka Konnica ( Masovian Cavalry) - medium-light cavalry with mch similarity to Lithuanian and Rus cavalry (cavalry pavise shields), agile and hard-hitting were not equal of the powerful knights, but had enough power to deal with most enemies on their own, Infantry Kusznicy ( Crossbowmen) - also as usual, Wlocznicy ( Spearmen) - as above, Advanced units - late XVth century Polish army was slowly abandoning old knightly cavalry and similar supporting infantry - the core of the army was the new professional infantry and cavalry. Army was created after suprising defeat from the Teutonic Order's army at Chojnice and started virtually undisturbed 200 years long period of victories over all manner of foes. Cavalry Kopijnicy ( Lancers) - heavy Men-at-arms armed with long lances, warhammers and swords and equipped with excellent gothic armour. Strzelcy ( Shooters) - crossbow (later bow and handgun) armed cavalry supporting Kopijnicy and lighter mobile cavalry with their mobile firepower. Racowie - light cavalry armed with lances and curved shields - early Hussars who slowly replaced Kopijnicy in later decades. Infantry Draby - Hussite style infantry armed primary with crossbows, handguns and bows with over 60% in each ten equipped missile weaponry with at least one pavise armed and one heavily armoured pikeman. Polish infantry were mainly from Bohemia providing much of the employement for Hussite mercenaries making the wars in later XVth century the last Hussite wars but they were used almost only to provide firepower, in sieges, in garrison duties and sometime to clear difficult terrain in close combat, cavalry was the hammer of the army - infantry remained it anvil. Ships and artillery Basically the same as in western europe, but with 2 notes: - galleys were not used, but other Northern and Baltic Sea ships, - Poland had one of the most modern artillery train in the late XVth century - useful to besiege numerous Prussian castles of the Teutonic Order and also started using artillery very quickly with several pieces in early XVth century, That shouldbe good enought. 5. If you need any help with : Poland, Russia, Iroquis, Aztecs, Inca, Mapuche (if these are here) or generally ANYTHING from the XVIth and XVIIth century I have enough knowledge to assist this mod with necessary information. I am largerly responsible for Pike and Musket mod for TW series and I have most of reseacrch already done. BTW Poland was indirectly a colonial power for a couple of years - its vasal state Courland had Tobago untill it was taken by the Dutch in 1660s. Regards Cegorach
  6. All right I have registered. Please, tell me what exactly is the timeframe of your mod and I will provide you with the reliable Polish roster. Cheers !
