  1. Hey guys, why not combine both methods? I mean looking at Pureons mockups there is still enough space in the Match Setup Menu to integrate a button for something like "Show me the civs" right next to the civs dropdown menu. When clicking at this button you could get Michaels new AoM-Civ-Selection Submenu. With this design people who already know what they want to play can select their civ easy and fast while others who need some infomration about the civs can go to the extra menu.

  2. there is another Battle of Tannenburg in the first world war (1914)..well the german called it battle of Tannenburg, but if you are exact it wasnt at tannenburg - but they want to show that they've won at a place, where they had lose 500 years ago ... :)

  3. well each, splashes and blood wont come until we have a working particle-system, but at the moment other, more gameplay-relating things are more important, so that will be something for the beta-phase :)

    In my opinion the lags are not my fault.... they starts when the camera is flying a curve...the cam doesnt move it stumbles there...

    EDIT²: If you do this high timescale+high framecount thing mentioned in the tutorial it is no problem :D

    And atlas crashed after some frames at my cinematic-tutorial-map, dont know why ....

    EDIT: If I reduce the settings it works...

    And we have now another great feature....

    My comp needs 39sec for celt-snow on 25frames/1200bit ;) The movie takes 11sec, so (25*11)/39 = 7 frames/sec

    Would be cool if we can change the resolutution too ;)

    You can check the animations yourself, I think I've commited "new world animated", so just start atlas, load it, go to cinematic, select track01 and path01 nad node01 and click start.

    Imagine this with particles and triggers (moving units etc)

    would be ubercool :shrug:

  6. Here is my last news ^^

    Last week Ubisoft announced the sixth part of there price winning game 'the settlers'. In this part the developers try to connect the 'new' settler style ( like in V) with the old. The settlers are now a bit more fatter and smaller then in settler V but not as fat and small as in the old parts. The main-theme of the game is to create a little middleage-city. Military isnt as sticky as in settler V, the person with the best economy will now win the war.

    They use the old settlers V engine, but improved them, so that they can use tenth time more polygons and fourth time higher resoluted textures ( ;) )

  7. The demo of the new economy-simulation Anno 1701 was released some days ago. Anno 1701 is developed from Related Designs. The demo is limited to 90 minutes of playtime and not more than 500 citizien ( there are several steps of status a person can have .. at the begin he is pioneer, than settler, than citizien.. in the full game there will be five steps, in the demo you can only test the first three ones)

    Unfortunately only the german version of the demo is released, but you shoul give it a try ;)

  8. On Friday 13th Piranha Bytes's Bestseller Gothic 3 was released. The Publisher Jowood announced yesterday that more than 150000 copies has been sold since now. The Game is on place one in German and four in UK buying-charts.

    The game is very buggy and has not sa good graphics as oblivion has, but it has a great atmosphere. Especially forests are in Gothic great and better then in Oblivion. You can see packs of wolves, herd of deers and also little snakes. Also they used the Speedtree-technologie better, so that there forests looks more organic.

  9. Fragfist is a 3d Multiplayer-Combat-Game developed from students of the game-accademy in Berlin ( click ). Some alumni of this academy are now employed in this studios:

    Fragfist is the final-project of five students. They've used ogre, Physix and Rakknet.
