  4. I use the 0ad ubuntu ppa with the last snapshots. https://launchpad.ne...archive/0ad.dev And I don't have a directory named "mappreview" to this path: /art/textures/ui/session/icons/mappreview To get an access to the textures easily I use file-roller cd '/usr/share/games/0ad/mods/public' sudo file-roller public.zip Regards Kao
  5. I have got a similar problem with a fresh install of 0ad.dev ppa on a fresh install of Ubuntu 12.04 X64: It happens when I select single player -> matches tex_dds.cpp(543): Function call failed: return value was -120102 (Invalid/unsupported texture format) Function call failed: return value was -120102 (Invalid/unsupported texture format) Location: tex_dds.cpp:543 (decode_sd) Call stack: (0x7eeb0a) /usr/games/pyrogenesis() [0x7eeb0a] (0x7a1fa1) /usr/games/pyrogenesis() [0x7a1fa1] (0x7a2c7e) /usr/games/pyrogenesis() [0x7a2c7e] (0x7a2479) /usr/games/pyrogenesis() [0x7a2479] (0x80f2f0) /usr/games/pyrogenesis() [0x80f2f0] (0x7e64b5) /usr/games/pyrogenesis() [0x7e64b5] (0x7c2a94) /usr/games/pyrogenesis() [0x7c2a94] (0x7bfe11) /usr/games/pyrogenesis() [0x7bfe11] (0x5ff1a8) /usr/games/pyrogenesis() [0x5ff1a8] (0x5f7c1e) /usr/games/pyrogenesis() [0x5f7c1e] (0x618978) /usr/games/pyrogenesis() [0x618978] (0x7500ec) /usr/games/pyrogenesis() [0x7500ec] (0x74333d) /usr/games/pyrogenesis() [0x74333d] (0x7968a6) /usr/games/pyrogenesis() [0x7968a6] (0x71d1ee) /usr/games/pyrogenesis() [0x71d1ee] (0x71229a) /usr/games/pyrogenesis() [0x71229a] errno = 0 (No error reported here) OS error = ? I think it's a bug of the map menu, I can play if I click on "Continue" on the debug interface. Regards Kao

  7. I built another object in order to practice: 356 for the bridge and 101 for the well It's not perfect, but now I think I am ready to help the project. I could begin with a smaller mesh. I'll go fill out the form now to see if I can help. Regards Kao
  8. Thank, this is working perfectly. I need to improve my mesh and texture now. Regards Kao
  9. Hello! I don't know if I have got skills to do that, but I wanted to build a little mesh with textures and try to import it into the editor. So I have build a water well with blender and I exported it into a collada file: http://ubuntuone.com...KZk6L9HovYbqLMd But I didn't found how to past it in the "pyrogenesis -editor", I try to copy directly the files into the public.zip but without success I wondered how can I do such things in order to test my mesh and see if the all goes well, particulary the scale. I run 0ad, blender and Gimp on a Ubuntu 64bits platform. I found the editor here: /usr/games/pyrogenesis -editor Regards Kao
  10. I suggest to implement a formation with lines , the first line with heavy ships, the second line with medium ships and the third with the lightest ones. In the past week, the documentary "the Destiny of Rome" was broacasted on the German/French TV channel named ARTE. If you can, try to catch it, it worth it. In the second part of the movie, a big animation of the battle of Actium has been build in 3D. This battle occured in 33 BC between the Antony's fleet and the Octavian's fleet, more than 500 warships engaged in the battle (so few). You can distinctly see the ships formations and how to engage the battle with Roman ships. The documentary has been done with a small budget and green screens on a small movie set, but animations work fine and he gives us a good vision of what a Roman battlefield was. http://en.wikipedia....attle_of_Actium Trailer here: http://www.youtube.c...player_embedded and some capture of the film are attached to this It's very instructive, you should try to see it. Regards kao
  11. Hello, When I move a group of boats, they don't let space between themselves. On the capture, a group of 8 sailboats appears like one only ship. But it's not a problem to navigate for them.. Regards Kao
  12. Hello, I work with an Ubuntu platform and I use the ppa:wfg/0ad.dev to get the lastest snapshot. You can get it with this command: sudo add-apt-repository ppa:wfg/0ad.dev
  13. Hello, I know it's strange to do that but if you build a main house too close to the water, the people, that are coming out from it, can be stuck underwater. They can't pass through the surface, they can't join earth. In order to free them from the water, you can use a ship, they still can climb on it, and regain the beach with it. A capture speaks more: Thanks, Kao
  14. Ok, your driver seems working well for the shadows, and the problems has disappeared. But I'll go back to the original driver, I have some others problems with Unity now. But it's still a good news, Thank you for your help. Kao
  15. Hello, I don't know really if it's the same case but I have got some weird shadows too. I attached a screen capture to this reply. My platform is an ubuntu 11.04 with the free radeon driver on a R600 ati card. glxinfo: OpenGL renderer string: Gallium 0.4 on AMD RV670 OpenGL version string: 2.1 Mesa 7.10.2 OpenGL shading language version string: 1.20 I use your lastest work with the ppa 0ad.dev sudo add-apt-repository ppa:wfg/0ad.dev There is a fix for the r300 driver but I don't know if the patch can be transfered to the r600g? I can provide you more details if necessary. Thanks for listening Kao
